Today when I heard the story of the group of ppl in Mexico who went to pray in jamaat in the mall, that really brought a smile to my face. Subhanallah, just the way they openly and proudly prayed in front of the public, with the purpose of da’wah, it just amazed me.
I was thinking, if only we had ppl doing that all around the west in these kind of public places every once in a while, there could be so much change.
Why don’t we have that sort of thing in mtl?? How abt it? I personally wouldn’t think it appropriate for sisters but the brothers can do it. Really…I think it’s a great idea.
So who’s willing to do this act for the sake of Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) and to spread the truth insha’Allah? I really hope that the brothers try it out! Even if you only make the intention, insha’Allah I pray that you get the reward for it.

Assalaam Alaikum,
Well, now that you mention it. There is going to be an event soon (insha Allah June 27th!), it's about feeding and clothing the needy. This event is to be conducted in the open.

Now the timing for this event is from 10:00 AM to around 6:00 PM. Hence the dhuhr and 'Asr prayers will - insha Allah - take place in full view of the public.
As for the part where we need a brother to explain to onlookers about the prayer... we might need an extra brother.

But this is like faaaaar, far away from today; who knows when one might not be alive for tomorrow? Therefore, it might be possible to arrange a public congregational prayer soon (insha Allah this week, even!) - but it has to depend on the sincerity of the "doers"...
So the sisters and brothers reading this, be aware of this.

Ofcourse, if you really, really want to see this in current action, just go visit our brothers and sisters in McGill! You can't miss the faithful worshippers in the green field (sisters included!) But they seem to do it more out of desperation than the intention of da'wah... but [almost] anything is capable of change, right? So get your convincing skills polished.

But always keep the intention pure.

Fi Aman Allah
