Usool alFiqh for dummies?

Does anyone know of a simple very basic outline of the usool of fiqh?
A text book for Islamic schools or diagrams or a flash presentation would be nice.

Jazakumullahu khayran. The first few notes are useful, but then the book carries on to deal with the history rather than the usool of fiqh.

I will look over those initial notes again. I would also appreciate any further help in 'cracking the code'.

I also have M. H. Kamali's book on Usool al Fiqh; its like a 700k zip file. I'll see if I can fwd it to the ameer/ ameerah and anyone interested can get it off of them ...
