Walaikum-assalam Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatu,

MA SHAA ALLAH! Qabeelat Hayl's TPA newsletter is amazing! The content is great along with the layout. I liked the GEMS that were posted on one of the last pages of the newsletter. All of the individuals who took part in making the newsletter a success deserve to be commended for their hard work and efforts. May Allah (SWT) reward you all for your hard work and efforts.

Wassalamu-alaikum,
Haroon

asalamu alaikum warahmatullaahi wabarakaatuhu

Maa shaa' allaah, laa quwwata illa billaah!!! This is definitely one of the best newsletters I have read so far...Excellent gems, stories, reflections, all the ingredients for an emanrush!! alhamdulilaah! My kids especially liked it when I read them the story "The Power of Bismillaah" by Sister Juli, and the gem-filled articles, "Aqim as-Salah" and "Wastefulness".

I really, really loved this newsletter, but there was one error/typo I noticed on page 15 in the last quote under the "knowledge" column...it reads:

"Find joy in traveling for the sake of attaining knowledge, with every step you take, the CREATORS (I think maybe it's supposed to be CREATION?) of Allaah make(S) istighfar for you."

Just wanted to let you all know, so you could make the change if you haven't already inshaa allaah. May Allaah subhana wa t'ala bless all of you in this dunya and in the hereafter for your efforts, ameen.

Your sister, Umm Qaasim

ps. can you all post a message to let us know when you have made the change, because I would like to send the link to the newsletter out to my email list, jazaakum allaahu khairan!!

Jazakumullahu khayran for the newsletter, haylers.

Regarding your Bismillah article was it based on this hadeeth? (I copy pasted this hadeeth from a TPA post by Ustadh Abdul Bary)

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said,
“To put a barrier that will prevent the jinn from seeing the ‘awrah of the sons of Aadam, let any one of you say ‘Bismillaah’ when entering the toilet.” (Reported by al-Tirmidhi, 551; Saheeh al-Jaami’, 3611)

Or are there more sources than this?

Because you mentioned that bismillah is a a more general barrier against harming the jinn, like when falling over.

Could you clarify the references for this please?

Jazakumullahu khayran.

it was from class mentioned by Syeikh AbdulBary that a sitr(hijab) is made between us and the world of the jinns when we utter bismillah. Please correct me if I'm wrong. He didn't mention a specific source though. I'm assuming it stems from that hadith above too. Wallahu a'lam.

Jazakillahu khayra.
Is it possible to confirm the reference for bismillah being a barrier against jinn (in circumstances other than awrah protection)?
wassalamu alaykum

p.s. maybe I should post this question in the tpa folder

UmmQaasim, jazkaki Allahu khayran for pointing out the mistake. My guess is that it was meant to read "creatures" (which is what it's been corrected to) - but at any rate, yes, it was a mistake.

There is a corrected newsletter out there somewhere - we'll see if we can't make it available for viewing soon in sha' Allah.

May Allah reward you for your patience.

maybe I should post this question in the tpa folder
UmA, yes, you might try that, and see if you get a resonse. I recall the sheikh telling us that "bismillah" is the barrier between our world and that of the jinn, but I can't remember any particular source. Wa Allahu a'lam.

Jazaakum Allaahu Khayran for all those that pointed out the error. I am currently uploading the corrected version, so by the time you read this, the link should have the updated version.

And, Jazaakum Allaahu Khayran to the newsletter production crew for being so responsive this whole time. And I apologize for the delay on my part in getting it online.

I still have many copies of the printed newsletter available - be advised that there are still some typos in this edition, since the last errors were found after the newsletter went to print, unfortunately.

I will try to bring the printed copies to the new organizational meeting we have, in shaa Allaah. This will be announced with the e-mail list.
