Ya Ameerah, you know we're just playing right now....if we blow Durbah out now it wouldn't be a fun competition....we have to let them think theyre winning, its more fun that way.
Bi'idhnillah it'll be SOLD OUT ....and MORE! :)

Asalaamu `alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuhu,
Looks like Majd needs to rev up their engines to a much higher RPM ;)
*egg*
Durbah, let's kick it up 10 notches in Ramadan. You should have more time, with all the time you aren't eating ;)
Same advice goes for Majd. If you need help marketing TPA, let me know inshaa' Allah.

Asalaamu `alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuhu,I've got an idea for this competition. Let's see which race has the biggest combined attendance.
What do you say, Majd? Personally, I don't think any of the other combos can touch us, wAllahu a`lam (even the 3-way race).

Wa Leikum Salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,
Hmmmm..Majd and Durbah teaming up for a combined attendance. Interesting.
Personally, I don't think any of the other combos can touch us, wAllahu a`lam (even the 3-way race).Oh..for sure inshAllah.
Maybe a 2-in-1 competition... we compete with each other but also compete for overall combined attendance with the rest of the Qabail?
What say you Majdians and fellow Durbites?

first of all, i don't think its fair to have competition between 2 qabeelahs who are hosting different seminars. i mean.. common. The LOG and FOL classes are by nature, attractive to even average muslims. on the other hand Usool alFiqh would be taken by those wanna be intellectual and serious muslims.
In the NY promo, i could see people's difference of face expression when shk.yasir birjas gave 2 different lectures (evolution of fiqh & fiqh of love). people just enjoy topics like fol. But for classes like usool alFiqh, you are guaranteed to get the real serious and interested student of knowledge (reminds me of Dr.Ashraf ... knowledge is pain). Usool alFiqh is difficult to market as many consider it as a "dry" seminar. but I am sure, after taking the class, the entire mindset would be changed inshallah.

when I was moving to Canada, there was a stereotype that da'wah activities in the US rocked, and Canada was quiet and boring.
alhamdulillah, Toronto, within a few classes, became one of alMaghrib's largest Qabeelahs. May Allah reward the ameer/ah and the entire Qmajd crew for how hard they worked to get there.
Qmajd went from 140 students in History ofKhulafaa', to like 400 in Light of Guidance (notice I didn't make an acronym). And they have been rocking ever since.
My question for QMajd is this: what do you think was the tipping point that took you into mega-Qabeelah status? (In sha allah, your answers will help *cough*mubeen*cough* others).

I'd have to say that it was a combination of having a great Ameer&Ameerah and a great group of individuals dedicated bringing to Almaghrib to the masses here in Toronto.
Couple of possibilities:
The Light of Guidance class was advertised at a massive conference.
Also one of the campuses here has a really pumped pro AlMaghrib MSA.

Ditto that! Mashallaah AlMaghrib has been blessed with amazing volunteers and leaders who are hardworking and sincere in their efforts. Some of the people ...when they noticed the enthusiasam and drive they noticed within the students/ volunteers/ameer/ameerahs... were like.... are they getting paid for this. :) May Allaah pay everyone for their good deeds with an increased amount of reward and blessings in this life and the akhir (Ameen wajma'een)

I agree..part of the reason our qabeelat has grown (in number) since the History of the khulafaa serminar per se is the fact that we as a qabeelat wanted to acheive a certain goal..so what we would do is set a record for each class...and not always did we acheive the numbers that we desired but alhamdulilah in most of the cases, we surpassed our goal and so in the end it all comes down to how bad you all really want it...and how hard we are willing to work for it...(*also make some powerful du'aa in the process)

We definitely can use advice from other Qaba'el, but we are determined and will inshaAllah achieve our goals
It takes lots of effort, dedication, and time to remove the rust from people's hearts, it takes hard work and innovation to re put ilm and seeking knowledge back as an aim for people, and it takes lots of courage and will to polish the love for Islam in peoples' Minds
But guess what, in Memphis Islam is returning back in fashion, every imam and sheik is pushing hard and harder for his halaka, every imam is rediscovering areas of neglect and is addressing it with more halaka, I see Memphis in couple of month and a community of seeking ilm.
Let’s make Doaa for that, Allahom Aaameen
