Bismillah,
I would say the first promo went as we had expected. We expected a large number of people to come and yes they were completly interested..Subhanallah. Its still mind boggling to see the reaction on peoples faces when you tell them about all the things Almaghrib classes offer. All in all it was a smash hit and Inshallah this one will be the hype of the month as well. To All Haylers out there let the whirlwind of activities continue!

sister Hala, mashaAllah awesome effort. Can I please ask where you got the DVD by Sh Muhammad from? inshaAllah if you can post the details, that would be great..barak Allahu feeki.
Sister Ikhlaas, I bought it outside of my Masjid one day. There was a brother selling DVD's and CD's and they were all in Somali and he told me there were 2 in English, when he said Muhammad Alshareef, I bought them instantly. I can check the distributors name/contact info and post it here inshaa Allah. I believe it was something like Abu Hurairah Publications in Toronto Canada, but I'll find out for you inshaa Allah.

I'm pretty sure we completely overlooked that. In any case, the promo is sisters only (sorry), so it should be fine if the sisters who took HOK take their exam then go to the promo....we'll have to prepare everything in advance insha Allah.
Hala, if i'm not mistaken sis, the date was supposed to be the 28th. You have info that i was not even aware of....goodness, i think i need to check my email, this once a week thing is not working. This school/work thing is definitely aint working either. Keep me updated, call me insha Allah.

If the program for the the 29th Promo can be a little bit more ....say.....exciting, maybe ..maybe, we can get 5 brothers from Michigan to come down on the 29th to support Hayl with re-launch http://forums.almaghrib.org/images/icons/icon14.gif
Salaamu Aleeykum
Unfortunately the promo was delayed for a week. Also, the promo is supposed to be only a sisters promo. Maybe the 5 brothers can call the brothers in Columbus and motivate them a little. They seem to be still depressed and in shock about the loss of Qabeelat Hayl. The sisters only woke up after the loss of the Qabeelah which explains the Haylstorm. We keep trying to wake them up but they keep hitting the snooze button after slightly opening their eyes. We are asking Allah that they wake up so that we can have a sis/bro promo in November or December insha Allah. Hope the brothers in Michigan can call the brothers in Columbus to wake them up, maybe give them water to drink (reality check) to get rid of the dehydration.
Fii Amaani'Laah
The promo has been delayed until November 12th.
Maybe...just maybe if the promos weren't sisters only, the 5 brothers could come down. You can expect something from the brothers in the upcoming months...but yes, do give them a call until then.
We definitely need the support from Ittihaad, after we made up 20% of Uloom al-Qur'an in June, I think you owe us a little bit of support, right?
sister Hala, mashaAllah awesome effort. Can I please ask where you got the DVD by Sh Muhammad from? inshaAllah if you can post the details, that would be great..barak Allahu feeki. I found the details. The lecture was recorded at "The Look Within" conference in Toronto. Here is the contact info on the CD itself:

Let me know how it works out and if they have more than one lecture.

One of the best things I loved about the promo was the gift bags, with the lecture CDs and the cards. As there were extras, we distributed these after the promo as well. And subhaanAllah today I was talking to a sister who listened to the lecture and she was telling me how much she loved it, how much it touched her heart, how surprised she was that it was in English. MashaaAllah =]

Hmm, if the after-fajr 'Blessed Dawn' program is still being held perhaps we can discuss the details then? Getting together after the HOK exam is also a great idea. Here's to productivity, inshaaAllah!

MashaaAllah =]I think that's what people love about AlMaghrib in Columbus so much. It's not like they don't want to learn, we are blessed to have so many Islamic events for the fluent Somali-speakers, but not as many for all of the youth who were raised in the US. AlMaghrib gives them something they struggle to find elsewhere. That's why AlMaghrib in Columbus will work out this time inshaa Allah, the community support and love for AlMaghrib and knowledge even before they've taken the classes is exceptional, walhamdulilah.

Wallahu a'lam, I'm not sure about that, I know some of us will be studying Sunday morning. Plus, this meeting on Sunday is going to be a rather large one, larger than our typical sisters meeting. We are expecting all of the brothers and sisters who are working with us in bringing AlMaghrib back, inshaa Allah. We've reserved a room at Columbus State, so, bintAmina, I'm expecting to see you there! (along with your sisters inshaa Allah!)

BinAmina, i so agree with you, many of the girls told me how they loved the lectures too, and their younger siblings even loved it more. Good to see you foruming again..lol. Be there early for the next promo, because these packages are gonna get hotter, insha Allah.
Amatullah, sis i didn't get your email, my email is kinda weird, but i'll wait insha Allah. Jazaki Allah khair for your du'a, i go to VA so much because i have family there, the last time i came i met a different type of Somalis that i never knew to be in the area, at Masjid Darul Hijra, they were all making Du'a for us, it was so sweet masha Allah. Now when my cousins ask i wouldn't object to living in VA..lol.

I've been keeping an eye on you Haylers...through much observation i would just like to say TabarakAllaah, Masha'Allaah wa Alhamdulillaah.....props guys, i give you props.
Seriously, i am trying to think about how it feels like to lose a qabeelah....and subhanAllaah, that is truly the time when one can distinguish the women from the girls and the men from the boys.
Imagine, would this loss of a qabeelah discourage someone from the deen and allow them to lose hope of gaining islamic knowledge and activism? Would it cause regret and revengeful feelings towards Almaghrib? Or would it cause ungratefulness, laziness and exclusion from other Almaghribi's or potential Almaghribi's? For some of us, sadly it would.
However, what i have been observing with ummat Hayl is something different, something extraordinary, revolutionary and direly needed in today's ummah as a whole.
With the Taqwa, potential, enthusiasm, energy and persistince of you Haylers, insha'Allaah you WILL achieve the blessings of Almaghrib classes and activism again. And if not that, than something better.
As a fellow muslimah, i encourage you gals (...and guys...soon insha'Allaah) to step it up and keep working hard in the way of Allaah.

Whoever thought we'd quit was certainly wrong...we plan on working like this until the day we bring AlMaghrib back inshaa Allah, if we are given the chance. It's great to have Ittihaad's support because you guys are the closest qabeelah to being our family here for real.
When we were shut down there were so many feelings, among them, hurt, sadness, decrease in motivation-BUT, that soon became the drive for all of the dawah activities we have been working on. Alhamdulilah, we are back with a bang!

Losing our qabeelah after recieving Light of Guidance was especially painful. We went from, "Aqeedah, what's that?" to - sigh... Aqeedaahhh
Salaamu Aleeykum
Simply put, we NEED Aqeedah 102 insha Allah. Many of us first and last class of AlMaghrib in Columbus was Light of Guidance, and we always keep you in our Du'as Ustadh AbuAmmar. Jazaka Allah khair for the encouraging words, insha Allah 7ankun 3andi 7usn thanak beena. We are looking forward to seeing you again, for Light Upon Light and for other things as well, insha Allah.
Eman, Jazaki Allah alfa khair sis, i'm printing what you said and posting it on my desk insha Allah. Honestly, we went from anger, sadness, to action and optimism. We made so much du'a not to lose AlMaghrib, but we ended up losing it. If you listen to Du'a the Weapon of the Believer you'll realize Allah always accepts your du'a, you always get something in return, either what you ask for, or an evil is averted from you. Our efforts and insha Allah the correct Niyyah shall help acheive our goals. Keep in mind, Ittihaad was our model and motivation.

It was quite a shock when AlMaghrib was taken away from us so suddenly. SubhaanAllah, you truly do not know the worth of something until it has gone. But inshaaAllah, it serves as a motivating factor, to encourage us to get back what we lost, to wake up those that have been sleeping from their slumber, to prove ourselves and show the world the HAYLSTORM! =]
