Assalaamu Alykum,
What is the correct way to complete the missed rikaa from the jamaa prayer?
Shall we commence the remaining rakaa(s) like we are starting a new salaa or just add the remaining rakaa(s) after the tasleem? (Do we pray sanaa before the Fatiha)

Bismillah ar-Rahman ar-Rahim
When a person comes to the congregational prayer and misses a Rak'ah or more of the prayer, the rak'ahs prayed with the imam would be considered the first and second consecutively and whenever the imam finishes the prayer the Ma'moom (follower) should continue with the rak'ahs consecutively. Ex: If a person comes and catches the last two Rak'ah of Zuhr prayer he should stand up after the Imam gives the Tasleem and pray his third Rak'ah and in the third Rak'ah a person is suppose to read only al-Fatihah.
Proof for this is the Hadith
When you hear the Iqaamah walk to the prayer with tranquility and calmness and do not be in a hurry. Whatever you catch of the prayer then pray and whatever you miss then complete it.
the Messenger of Allah said "...then complete it" which means complete what you missed and he didn't say make them up. The difference is if he would have said make them up we would have considered the Rak'ah after the imam gives his Tasleem our first but since he told us to complete what we missed of the prayer we will consider this Rak'ah our third and in the third one is to read al-Fatihah only. (*it is permissable once in awhile if a person wants to read another Surah in the third Rak'ah but that is another matter.)
