Assalamu Alaikum waRahmatullah.
At a sisters study session we go through Tafseer Surah Baqarah. We started with just reading from Ibn Kathir (Abridged) to make sure we don't say anything wrong. I then discovered In the shade of the Qur'an - Sayyid Qutb and Tafseer Qurtubi by Aisha Bewly, then of course there is Mohar Ali's word for word of the qur'an by JIMAS that has some commentry in it.
Now i've been looking the main opinions mentioned in each book about each verse mostly they overlap but sometimes they don't.
MashaAllah it reminds me of one of the GEMS one of the brothers wrote about breach of covenant - 'Tafseer is an ocean that can never be exhausted'.
I was wondering whether it is okay to look at tafsir using these sources together and mention them in discussion together or are we stepping into dangerous grounds by doing so without scholarly guidance?
Would it be better for us to stick to Ibn Kathir?

wAllahu 'alam,
I think it would broaden your understanding to look up multiple tafseers.
If you find something a little confusing, just ask the people of knowledge if you don't know.
If you find it's getting too confusing, then just stick to one tafseer.
wAllahu 'alam.

AssalamuAlaikum Brother Muhammad. We have a few new muslim sisters at our circles now. I was wondering whether it would be better to go through Juz Amma or continue with surah Baqarah - where we are up to verse 106 about the abrogations.

Question for Brother Muhammad:
MOD. EDIT- Please refer to our forums policies:I think it's "Dhulm" on your side for not informing others about those people who were/are not upon the Quraan and Sunnaah and Innovate and spread Fitnaah amongst the Muslims.
and if I have done "Dhulm" in regards, then please provide your Daleel that the other person was upon the Haqq, Upon the Manhaaj of The Saalaf Uss-Saalih.
I am writing this because not out of hatred, but because the person innovating in matters of Deen and The Ulaamaah of Ahluss Sunnaah Wa'al Jamaah Speaking against these individuals, so as to protect the general public from their Fitnaah as;
Allaah's saying: ”This day I have completed your Religion for you, and I have perfected My favor upon you, and I am pleased with Islaam as a Religion for you.” [Surat-ul-Maa’idah: 3]
================================================== =======
Men are known by way of the Haqq (truth) and the Haqq is not known by way of men.
“And most of mankind will not believe even if you desire it eagerly.” [Surah Yoosuf: 103]
“And if you obey most of those on earth, they will mislead you far away from Allaah’s path. They follow nothing but conjecture, and they do nothing but lie.” [Surah Al-An’aam: 116]
So it is obligatory on us to accept the truth and to worship Allaah, Lord of all worlds, by it, and to abandon everyone that treads an innovated methodology. And we must place as our role model, the Messenger of Allaah (sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam), his Khulafaa, his Companions, and those who followed them amongst the Imaams of guidance. And Allaah is the One who grants success.
