Salam Sheikh Yasser. We know that, according to ibn-al-Qayyim, Imam Zuhri said, "The first love story ever known in the history of Islam was Muhammad (pbuh) with Aisha (ra)." But what about the lustful love of Muhammad (pbuh) for Khadijah (ra). The love story with Khadijah occurred before Aisha. Why then is Aisha considered the 1st love story in Islam?

It makes more sense to me to think Khadijah (ra) as the first. She lived before Aisha (ra). So it makes more sense.

Prophet (sa) used to cry at Khadijah's (ra) memory...and he (sa) defended her when Aisha (ra) made some kind of (negative) remark [like...old lady...or something] about her. Though, he also loved Aisha (ra) tremendously. They lived at different times, so they can't be compared...but that's a different topic.

Wallahu Alim.
