How the Competition WorksThe grades of all the students of a particular tribe are used to calculate which of the student tribes, as a whole, did the best on the exam. When an individual student misses the exam, they are not only hurting themselves, but they are also hurting the ENTIRE class average, because their absence counts as a zero and pulls everyone in their student tribal family down.

On the other side, the student who would normally be satisfied with a 90%, now has the drive to carry the average mark of their tribe to higher and higher percentages to ‘beat’ the other student tribes for the sake of Allah!

Other factors also contribute to determining the winners of the tribal competition, such as: the quality and content of the seminar NEWSLETTER that is developed by the tribe and distributed on the day of the exam; extra-curricular da’wah activities; the display of tribal brotherhood/sisterhood; student perseverance and excellence; etc. The main factor, however, is the overall average mark of the student body.
