Assalamu alaikum,
Insha Allah Banu Haqq is planning to place a one page ad in the local newspaper InFocus (http://www.infocusnews.net/). This is the newspaper that is widely distributed in Southern CA and it has supported us by publishing 3 articles (http://forums.almaghrib.org/showthread.php?p=209147#post209147)since our promo.

We really dont want to do an usual plain advertisement with date, location, and name of the course.

We wanted to take a different approach with comic style cartoons and real students testimonials etc.

None of Banu Haqqians have taken Love Notes class.

So we want to seek help of LN students to give us some ideas on the script of these comics.

For eg:
Cartoon1: A brother sends a text message to a sister asking if she can marry her. We put a red cross on it and a tick mark on it to let the reader decide if its right or wrong and add something related to that.

Eg 2: A husband and a wife face opposite side with unhappy face.. Husband's thoughts in a circle " She always complains, she never let me play basket ball with brothers, She is nagging". Wife's thoughts in a circle as "He never does the dishes, He always sits with his laptop, He doesnt say he loves me often"

These are just some ideas that we came up with.

Please share your ideas/thoughts/feedback on this insha Allah. We dont have much time left as today is already 20th and we are targetting July 1st issue insha Allah.

So fast input is highly appreciated.

Jazakum Allah Khair

wa alaykum as salam wa rahamatulahi wa barakatu,

in the LN class the married life of the prophet sallahu alayhi wa salam is also talked about... i can't think of a comic that wouldn;t ruin the class for whoever has not taken the class,

the section on the married life of the prophet sallahu alayhi wa salam was the most memorable to me personally... i don;t want to ruin the class...so i don;t want say more....

If you look at the attachment it has a catchy saying:

Learn how to be an outstanding husband - from the mothers of the believers
Learn how to be an outstanding wife - from the best man that ever lived on the face of this earth.

The Ad is going to be variety of catchy statements related to the course as well as some comics.

So feel free to add your memorable moments of the class.

Idea of a comic strip:
One guy has a tape on his eye-lid to keep it from blinking. He's trying to get his ONE look at a sister!
Heading: NO SNEAK-A-PEEK.

MashaAllah, this is a really great idea!!! Maybe somewhere on the comic you can put the Love Notes poster in the background, or have some kind of additional posters that continue with the first ones. Like a series of comics that are put up every week to intrigue peoples interest.

This is kind of a bad example, but there was this company that was opening up and for a couple of weeks there was a billboard along the freeway that said "You Smell..." and that's all it said. It even made the news. Then finally it said
"You Smell..." ...Fantastic!" And it turned out to be an advertisement for a new perfume store. You guys can do something like this. Or like the milk advertisment... "Need Love?" or "Got Love?" "Take Love Notes!"Maybehttp://forums.almaghrib.org/images/icons/icon11.gif? If I can think of anything else, I would LOVE to help http://forums.almaghrib.org/images/icons/icon12.gif. May Allah bless your efforts and grant you success in this life and the next. Ameen.
