Question for sheikh about taking from someone who commits bidah.

Assalamu Alaikom, Sheikh AbdulBary. I have a question about something that was said in class. We learned that it is okay to take ahadith from people of bidah as long as their bidah does not take them outside the folds of Islam. Then, a minute later, you told us about a narrator (I didn't get his name) that denied the Kathr of Allah Subhana Wa Ta'ala, by saying that we have no free will, but the scholars would still take ahadith from him. I thought that denying one of the articles of faith would take you outside the fold of Islam? Could you please clarify this? Jazak Allah Khair. Teena
