Bismillah:

So are you tired of the same boring material being sent out in the weekly emails, same old reminders like we're three years old, so tired that you don't really read the email anymore?

If you have that feeling think of the feeling of potential AlMaghrib students and that they are actually put off because they are so annoyed.

A lot of people also wonder "Why should I pay $165 for a class I can get for free?" and "Oh they paid so much money but I don't see the benefits it brought to their lives?." "What are AlMaghrib students really about, what is Qabeelat Haqq?"

and the list goes on...

As for the emails that go out, one thing that would be really awesome is to have our students implement their knowledge by writing beneficial articles they learned from the class that we can a) either compile in a newsletter and send out after each seminar or b) send out one article along with other announcements etc. Imagine all the hasnat you would get for doing that :) And this also is an awesome marketing tool that will allow people to see the value of taking the class and the benefits it can bring to their lives.

We tried to do something with Rules of Engagement but it never fell through. So let's actually take it through this time inshaAllah!

Insha'Allah! Thanks for bringing this up...and since you brought the idea up again, are you willing to head up the project as well? :) For example, you can look for people willing to submit articles, etc, and you can coordinate the deadlines, project layout, etc.?

Beneficial articles/essays would be cool, just in general, as a way to share some of what we learned with the community at large just for the sake of da'wah.

This is a great idea. The thought of creating a newsletter can be overwhelming, but if we break it down and maybe expand on the idea of our gems, it might come together really well. Shorter articles might be more effective and eaiser for us compile.

Asalaam alaikum,
Mashallah, this is a good idea. And this could be distributed to local masjids?

Bismillah

I have an idea...I think right now doing a newsletter may be a bit overwhelming due to most of our volunteers schedules this time of year. How about...instead...we ask people, at their leisure, to send us in an article, reflection/combo on content from the class. We can send it out to all Qabeelat Haqq students, and ask them to forward it on to all of their friends. Since we are also already turning in a loose sheet of paper with the exam, perhaps we can ask if those students who do such an article can get some extra credit also =)

What does everyone think?
