Assalamu Alaikum,

So I was talking to my brother about how awesome our hospitality was after TPA was over, and he asked me, "How do you know?" It caught me off guard because I just assumed since I was having such an amazing experience that everyone else was too. How could they not? We have dedicated volunteers who try really hard to accomodate everyone and try to get know sisters, especially the newcomers or out of towners...but can we do more? Or do some things differently? We have heard how some other Qabeelahs have not had raving reviews of their hospitality from some of our own But how can we ensure that we NEVER have anything but exceptional reviews?
Let's have a questionnaire filled out, anonymously of course, and have people(including the Sheikh) rate us in many different categories...my question is, has this been done before? If so is there a template that we can use or take from? If not what questions can we include?

Some questions I think should be included are:

How do you think the staff did? Did you feel welcome? Did you feel you could approach a staff member for anything that you needed?
For the out of towners:
How was your hosting process? How was your hosting experience?
For the first timers:
Did this class meet your expectations? Why do you believe that?
Did you meet any new people?
Will you come back to a Tayybah class?
Maybe some questions can cover food, seating arrangements, clean-up,babystting and overall performance...
Insha Allah our goal is to make everyone who comes to a Tayybah class end up having a stellar experience...and Insha Allah keep coming back for more and bring people back with them next time they come.
Most of all we want everyone to benefit as much as possible from whatever class it is we're hosting and not let any distractions or dissatisfaction with anything we have control over affect the students of knowledge.

BarakAllahu feeki

Let's also remind ourselves that our goal is not - in any way, shape, or form - to get good reviews and praise from others. If our hearts desire that at all, then we should abandon this. We should be hospitable to guests and teachers (and each other) for the sake of Allah. It is sunnah and it is great character and good akhlaaq.

Jazak Allah Khair NYBrother for the reminder! The advantage, in fact the necessity of having an evaluation of our hospitality, is not to get good reviews or praise from others, but rather to help us see where we can improve our hospitality so that we can strive to get better & better with this deed for the sake of Allah (swt). & I ask Allah (swt) to grant us ikhlaas in all of our actions.

QueenGagger, I think everyone of the questions you listed should definetly go in there, but from experience, i find it easier to take a survey when it asks you to rate certain thing from 1-10. So i would be food 1-10 hospitality 1-10, accomidations 1-10 and people would be asked to rate 1 for very poor and 10 for couldn't be better (or something like that)
