Shahadah Story @ Sacred Scrolls Chicago

Alhamdulillaah, on our first night a woman took Shahadah at our class! Some funny things that took place as a result:

1. Telling Imam Suhaib about it: I told Imam Suhaib that a woman was coming up to take the shahadah, and he was like, "Alright, I'm the one who's going to do it, alright?" like, you'd better not even try to take it, so I say back, "No problem, i want you to do it," and then funny guy, he comes back and says, "No man, you shouldn't give it up that easily, you should fight for it!"

2. Confirming the understanding: Before the shahadah took place, imam suhaib went to the back to confirm the sister knew what she was getting into accepting Islam, so while that happened, he's like, "Keep the class busy," so we end up doing exercises. He comes back later and he's like, "Doesn't Muhammad Alshareef make you guys do patty cakes, or something? Make them do patty cakes!" And I was like, no, those are high fives :D

3. After the shahadah: After the woman gave shahadah, when the new sister was walking away, says to her, "You don't have any more sins, you should make du'aa for us," and then proceeds to tell walk her through making a du'aa for everyone in the class, and then says, "You know, you should take advantage of opportunities like this - not in exploitive kind of way, but, y'know, in a good way."

Mashallah, that's amazing. We're still waiting on an in-class shahadah. And an Imam Suhaib class.
Maybe one comes with the other?

MaashaAllah, that was truly amazing, may Allah ta'ala protect her and keep her steadfast upon this deen. Ameen. She's a very strong sister, maashaAllah.

She was sitting near us during the first weekend and was in our group for the activity. SubhaanAllah, at first I didn't know that she was a NonMuslim and a sister then told me. She actually took a class with Ittihaad prior to A Heart Serene, maashaAllah.

We also had two shahadas during our Seerah class with AbdulBary Yahya at Qabeelat Hayl, walhamdulillah. It was beautiful, subhaanAllah.

Alhamdu lillah, I think in Qabeelat Haadi we had about 4 shahadahs in class this past year. Alhamdu lillah.

i've been blessed to see a few shahadas myself.. and even gave one...(that was such an honor!!!)...
can you all remember that tingling in the back of your spine while they say the words?? as if at that very moment you're renewing your own faith?

SiraajWhen I thinking about shahadah back in the day, there were 3 guys I know fighting out for it. It almost got violent.
