I remember a halaqah i went to where the speaker made everyone write a list of what they want in a husband/wife..thinking back now i remember the sisters having a lot of high expectations as well as the brothers. Then we were all asked how many of these qualities we all have that we expect from our future spouses..the room was silent. My uncle who has been married for nearly 10 years now said to me 'when brothers and sisters are single marriage is like wow..but once your married its more like what have i got myself into!!'

This is pretty interesting. A friend of mine had a similar idea. Mashallah, she is very beautiful and from a prominent family so she's pretty sought after, I guess. So she did this thing where she wrote down all the pros and cons she had of herself (Psyche majors....what can you say?) and was like "I'll give this to my dad so whenever someone comes by, before they say a word and before I hear about them, they get 'The List'. Eliminates wasted time and limits embarrassment on all sides."

I still think she was kidding but sometimes I wonder........

And yea, great thread.

Very interesting.....I suppose it would save time and atleast you know what your parents have said. Mmmmmmhhh actually a good technique! http://forums.almaghrib.org/images/icons/icon12.gif
