Aasallamu Aliekum banu Nasr

So I was talking to a couple sisters today about the up coming Shepherds Paths class and it reminded us about the other seerah classes we have taken and what we remembered about them the most.

A couple years ago I took a seerah course; at the beginning the Shiekh told us to pick one Sahaba and pretend that you are that companion. As went through the class we put ourselves in the place of that companion and compared ourselves to them.

Picturing myself as one of the companions of the Prophet(saw) helped me make what I was reading real to me, I was emotionally connected to all of the companions by the end of the class and I fell in love with Rasulallah saw and the Rabb that made him so. InshaAllah we can do the same with this class as well.

What were some of the things you all have taken away from your seerah studies?

I love the Sweetness, Kindness, Loyalty of Abu Bakr
I love the Strength, bravery, commitment of Omar
I love the Passion, Intellegence, Will to Believe of Ali
i love the Focus, Confidence, Power of Khalid ibn Al Waleed
I love the Protectiveness, toughness, charisma of Hamza
I Love the Sweetness, Gentleness, Loyalty of Khadeeja

Radiya Allahu Anhom
and soo many more!!! but i dont want to take up alot of space
as for the Prophet... it's hard to express how deep the connection. He's the Prophet =)

i hope this answered ur qs

you know i liked one story..
Sayeda Aisha asked the prophet when he was getting older
what 's the hardest time in ur life Ya Rasoulu Allah?

he told her, when he went to Taeef and was stoned, he passed though a valley of scorpions
and was being bitten by the scorpions.

First time i heard it, i was so TOUCHED!!!

it's when i heard this did i truely think so little of any problems i had. And it made me feel the true sacrifice he made to spread Islam. There is a saying in Arabic, it says " Fadak Ya Rasoulu Allah" , it means roughly everything is worthless to you. Nothing is too much for Rasoulu ALLAH.

Reading your post, Allah سبحانه و تعالى reminded me the only time (you can correct me if I am wrong) Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم literally sobbed was when his beloved uncle Hamzah رضي الله عنه was shaheed in Battle of Uhud

Secondly, imagine Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم saying fadak to someone else. Also in battle of Uhud Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم said used to take out arrows from the quiver of Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas رضي الله عنه and said, "Irmi Ya Sa'd Fidaaka Abi Ummi! Irmi Ya Sa'd Fidaaka Abi Ummi!" "Shoot O' Sa'd, may my mother and fathe be sacrificed for you! Shoot O' Sa'd, may my mother and fathe be sacrificed for you!" And 'Ali رضي الله عنه narrates that never did Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم combine, both, his mother and father for anyone!

(I know it's offtopic but something I wanted to share when I read your post)

and u r right, i can't imagine El Rasoul saying Fadak to anyone... it must have been very inspiring to hear!

Even Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم said to the sahabah رضي الله عنهم as he (Sa'd رضي الله عنه was his uncle), "Tell me if you have an uncle as good as mine!"

Masha'Allah it's so great to read/hear that Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم would say that to someone and it shows the level of Iman of the sahabi رضي الله عنه and love for him in his صلى الله عليه و سلم's heart and in the sight of Allah سبحانه و تعالى!

Jazahkallah khair for sharing guys I didnt know some of this.

Now my favorite thing to do is to research the not well known companions of the Prophet(saw). Everyone focuses on a few companions (obviously b/c of their wonderfully led lives) but there are a few hidden gems in there.

I remember reading about the life of fatimah(ra) and I was extremely jealous of her. Not only b/c of who she is related to but b/c of her beautiful deeds mashaAllah. I share with you a part of the article I read:

"On his return from the Farewell Pilgrimage, the Prophet did become seriously ill. His final days were spent in the apartment of his wife Aishah. When Fatimah came to visit him, Aishah would leave father and daughter together.
One day he summoned Fatimah. When she came, he kissed her and whispered some words in her ear. She wept. Then again he whispered in her ear and she smiled. Aishah saw and asked:

"You cry and you laugh at the same time, Fatimah? What did the Messenger of God say to you?" Fatimah replied:

"He first told me that he would meet his Lord after a short while and so I cried. Then he said to me: 'Don't cry for you will be the first of my household to join me.' So I laughed."

Not long afterwards the noble Prophet passed away. Fatimah was grief-striken and she would often be seen weeping profusely. One of the companions noted that he did not see Fatimah, may God be pleased with her, laugh after the death of her father."

SubhanAllah... such a beautiful life.
