Walaikumusalam warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu,

To be honest this is the first time I've heard that ahadeeth have to come from more than one source. From my (very limited knowledge) of Hadeeth sciences, you can have a single chain from a single sahabi and still have the hadeeth considered saheeh. If I recall ahadeeth that are limited in chains are referred to "ahaad" and chains with a larger amount (some differ on the amount, some say 3, some say 10 etc...) are referred to "mutawaatir". And please correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the hadeeth "Actions are based on their intentions" is considered an "Ahaad" hadeeth.

Allahu a'lam.

Assalamu alykum

I think we covered the number of sources for each, generally even though it is debated:

Ahaad: less than 2 sources

mutawaatir: 3-9 + sources

but this is very much debated but i could be total wrong this is what I wrote in my notes and remember

wasalamu alykum
