Asalamualykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh

I am just curious if the Fiqh of salat will cover the positions of the hanafi madhab?

JazakAllah khair.

wa'alaykum as-salaam warahmatullahi wabarakatuh
the general rule it seems of almaghrib's teaching is to present all opinions on any issue, and then the shaykh shares with us what he feels is the strongest of those opinions.. i think this goes for every class
but tayybites can speak from a similar experience.. that's the way it was in the purification act, which had a lot to do with salaah

Assalamu alaikum

Quduri is very good for learning the authentic positions of the hanafi maddhab. If you want to learn more, you can buy Nur al Idah and Al Hidayah fi sharh bidayat al mubtadi; both have been translated. The translation of Al Lubab fi sharh al kitab (which is the commentary of quduri) is going to be released in the middle of this year. Go over it with a teacher, though, as some of the legal proofs can get a little complicated. However, the notes that the translators have put into the text to explain jargon, etc. makes the need of a teacher almost nonexistent (for laymen obviously, not for aspiring muftis).

It is good to learn all aspects of the maddhab one follows, as when one takes the course, he will feel that the positions of his maddhab are weak. The teacher will oversimplify things to make it accessible to normal people. And the teacher will usually give his preference for a particular issue, and this will make people think that the proofs for the other maddhaahib are weak. Thus it is good to be solidly ingrained in the maddhab you follow before you take this class.

Although the discussion will tend to be more towards comparative Fiqh insha'allah, the main focus will be the Shafi'ee and then the Hanafi.
