Assalamu Alaikum all,
We have a football league in East London which is aimed at young men/teenagers who have been slapped with the youth offenders act and need to join a rehabilitation programme.
We have very good brothers who have taken this youth project under their wing for the past few years Alhamdulilah, which has seen these boys progress from being submerged in the 'wannabe' drugs culture thinking that its cool to behave like a thug and then having them transform their behaviour which led to some wanting to fill that immense void in their soul.
Last week the main project leader approached us with an excellent opportunity which made our hearts leap into the air!!!
The football project in the past had been funded by the local government, which has said that they will no longer be able to support this needy cause due to limited funding this year....here is where we come in.
They need to raise £800 before July 2009 so they can get the following moving:
1) Branded football shirts (premier league quality) with the sponsors logo and design of their choice
2) this will last them for a year and enable them to join the local league.
3) compete in the league
4) provide them with a qualified coach- instead of someone's uncle taking it in turn with another persons brother
okay, so above I've briefly outlined what the financial perks are...the psychological effects will exceed ones expectations, the project leader has asked that the local qabeelat brothers come and give back to their community:
1) attend theie football matches/ cheer them on etc
2) join them at the end of each practice and give them da'wah, show them that islam isnt a religion full of oldmen who tell you everything is haram.
3) lead by example, show the how to have fun the halal way
4) and most importantly: Invite them to the worship of Allah, The Most High.
What do I need:
In short, we already have the money to sponsor this football team, all we require is AlMaghribs permission...so how does one go about doing this?
btw- wouldnt it be soo cool to see premier league style football shirts- Royal Purple with the AlMaghrib logo plastered on it!!
