Or should I say bring it BACK, since I've heard that AlMaghrib was once there? (could someone please confirm this?? was AlMaghrib REALLY in Indiana before?)

Anyway, I will be moving to Indiana from my homeland of Ittihaad (michigan) over the summer inshallah. Alhamdulillah, I don't have a problem with moving. Allah always plans the best. However, the fact that there's no AlMaghrib there and that the closest qabeelahs are HOURS away (not to mention that I can't drive) is a problem for me.

I have visisted the place I will be moving to (Fort Wayne) which is about an hour away form Indianapolis, and it seems to be somewhat populated by Muslims (as in comparison to us being a rare species).

So do you think we could bring AlMaghrib to Indiana? All in favor, raise your hand and say aye!!! By the will of Allah, I think we might be able to do this...

3 years ago?? hhmmm....maybe they just need a poke (or a good shove) to wake them up again. does it seem possible?

3 years ago?? hhmmm....maybe they just need a poke (or a good shove) to wake them up again. does it seem possible? It's more than possible. It just requires the right kind of people. If you request a seminar in haste, I've seen that it takes longer for you get your qabeelah status back, and most of the shut down qaba'ail are still trying. (and this is what you see with most of the banus today)

Hayl I believe is the only qabeelah to come back to regain qabeelah status after being shut down and they did it in one try with Love Notes (mashaAllah, walhamdulilah). It is my belief that after the help of Allah, they accomplished this because they had a plan and followed through with it. They highlighted their problems, realized why they were shut down, and worked around them all.

There's a thread in this section I started outlining what exactly we did back then. May Allah place barakah in your efforts, Ameen.

I think she is referring to this post (http://forums.almaghrib.org/showthread.php?t=21486&highlight=hayl). Indeed, Hayl's come back was wonderful, but alhamdulilah all with much dua and much hard work around the clock from volunteers. Insha'Allah Indiana may benefit from the plans above and insha'Allah benefit your community as a whole.

All the best insha'Allah!

May Allah give Indiana a dedicated group of volunteers, and may He put barakah in their efforts to bring AlMaghrib back to Indiana. May Allah make it the second Qabeelah to be revived, and let Indiana win the Liwaa. And may it benefit many people. Ameen.

Alhamdulilah there are a ton of Muslims in Fort Wayne. I have relatives in Indianapolis so I've been there a few times. I don't think you should have a problem restarting the Qabeelat Insha'Allah. May Allah(swt) make it easy for you and put barakah in your task Ameen :)

Assalamu-alaikum No. 1 AlMaghrib Fan,

I was fortunate to be part of the original crew of volunteers that was blessed by the Mercy of Allah to have AlMaghrib Institute come to Indiana. Alhamdulillah there are still 15-20 brothers from Indiana (from Lafayette [Purdue University] and Indianapolis) that frequently attend AlMaghrib seminars in Chicago (Qabeelat Wasat). It may be worthwhile for you to consider attending seminars in Chicago as it should only by a 2-2.5 hour drive from Fort Wayne to Chicago.

Due to the fact that Chicago is about 2-3 hours away and Columbus, OH is 4-5 hours from the central part of Indiana, most students don't see the need to bring AlMaghrib Institute to Indiana (they are willing to drive to these locations). As a result, the motivation to try to bring back AlMaghrib Institute to Indiana is lacking in this regard.

Indianapolis ma shaa Allah has its own Islamic educational institute (not affiliated with AlMaghrib Institute) which you may be interested in looking up.

Wassalamu-alaikum,
Haroon

No I AlMaghrib Fan, I feel you. I recently moved from Columbus to NM, and the fact that there is no AlMaghrib qabeelah in town is should I say (now after being here for a few mths and missing my haylers sorely) devastating.

On the up side though, we're very close to Sheikh Yaser and get to see him every Tuesday and alhamdulillah Albuquerque (3 hrs away) now has Torch Bearers at least, and then there is Tempe (5 hrs away) with Bayyinah classes.

I'm very happy that Albuquerque is starting to establish a qabeelah even if it's 3 hrs away, bec 3 hrs away os better than 5 hrs away (getting home at 1 am on Monday is not that fun, though it was worth it alhamdulillah).

From what Br Haroon said, sounds like there is a slim chance of getting AlMaghrib in Indiana, though it's not completely impossible.

I take this (my situation of being far away from on site learning in environments such as ALMaghrib and Bayyinah) as a test, and right now I'm really feeling the brunt of it as melancholy and sentiment hit me full force.

May you get to enjoy the onsite experience once again, No 1 AlMaghrib Fan. Ameen.

I'm sorry for replying so late, but since these students are willing to travel, they won't bring AlMaghrib to Indiana? I understand the situation, and I would definitely be one of those who drive to the other qabeelahs, but my problem is that I don't have the means of traveling that far away. So if there are enough people interested, would they bring AlMaghrib back?

And I'm sorry if I'm being redundant and/or annoying...I need AlMaghrib in my life :)
