wa alaykum salam,
there aren't many tafseer books in English. There are a couple on tafseer juz amma that I can think of:
Tafseer ibn Katheer Part 30 - Imam ibn Katheer rahimahullah by Dar us Salam publishers (or tafsir dot com)
Methodical Interpretation of the Noble Qur'an- Part 30: Dr. Ahmad Nawafal and reviewed by Shaykh Umar al Ashqar. (this book is really cool although it is meant for younger Muslims, check out a sample page here (http://www.dar-us-salam.com/inside/Q51-Methodical-Interp30.pdf))
Also, Dr Saleh as Saleh rahimahullah has a audio collection of tafseer juz amma, can be found on his website: understand-islam dot net.
Lastly, br Nouman's ongoing tafseer juz amma lectures which can be found at www.bayyinah.com/dream.

I think that's a pretty good list the sister gave mashallah. I've listened to the cd set by sh. Alshareef. It follows tafsir ibn kathir pretty closely. Has some extra stuff and leaves some off. The class probably won't go into the grammatical depth of nouman ali khans series.
If you read ibn kathir you should be good inshallah.

Jazzakillahu khayrun for the book list, I'm totally excited about Br Nouman's list of lectures!
They look totally cool and will top of Touched by an Angel pretty nicely with all the grammatical analysis inshaAllaah.
