As Salaamu'Alaykum,
Do you have any good suggestion for our seminar venue in KL/Selangor area? Put some names here, and tell us why?
Here are some criteria:
1. Can accommodate in range 200 - 400 seats
2. Easily accessible via public transportation (LRT, Putra, etc)
3. Reasonable price

Assalamu'alaykum wrm,
I did some tour at UIA last Sunday, and alhamdulillah there are a lot of lecture rooms that I think are good for Al-Maghrib course inshaAllah.
1. Kulliyyah of Engineering - Main Auditorium
- quite big, about 400-500 max.
- Block 3, 3rd floor
2. Kulliyyah of Engineering - Auditorium A
- couldn't get it, but I guess it accommodates about 200-300 people
- Block 2, Ground floor
- wide space outside the auditorium
- bathrooms next to the auditorium.
3. Kulliyyah of HR (I forgot the name, sorry)- Lecture theater
- could accommodate aorund 200-300 (my guess only)
- Ground floor
- wide space outside
- bathroom close to the lecture theater
4. Main Auditorium IIUM
- could accommodate more than 500
- wide space outside
- close bathrooms
* Sorry, I couldn't get the pictures as they are either locked or had events when I came. But my family and I have been to most of the halls, and they are all good!
I am strongly propose to have the course at IIUM, besides it can be easily reached by public transportation (LRT & RapidKL). It can also attract the foreign students there too inshaALlah.
My 2 cents. Allahua'lam.

Would you like to volunteer in our Logistic Team?
Please email me: addanaim@gmail.com if you would like to volunteer. =)

Think so, the Main Auditorium of Engineering is the largest Hall in K. of Engineering. It looks comfortable, just that it's on the 3rd floor (stage door is on the 2nd).

salam alikom wr. I agree with sis nazyra(forgive the spelling) UIA is a really good location for class to attract the foreigners and even staff to get interested and to learn more about the deen in a different light and perspective. Now in terms of what halls venue to use in UIA, there is of course Kulliyah Engineering and Main Auditorium however as i UIA i know of other places like Kulliyah Economics and places in IRK and HS that have good enough space and easy access to alot of things. Inshallah these can be looked at if anyone plans to visit UIA. jk allah khair.

assalamualaikum
Taylor's looks good & their price is not bad either, mashaAllaah.
I have asked UPM(Fac of Med), as for now they dont have enough staffs to work on the weekend.
As for MAEPS(next to Mardi&UPM), its quite expensive. They quoted RM70/person/day.
This includes meals:morning, lunch, & afternoon tea.

Taylor's not a bad choice. Just include Sh. Waleed's consideration on our choice requirements. =)
*I'll put this here so everyone can revise.*
Walaikum Assalam. Wonderful work masha'Allah. I will give you a very important tip. The best choice is always a university that has as many different sizes of venues as possible, that ranges from small (150), middle size (300), and big size rooms (500 and up). Why? Some courses will attract only 150 students, other courses may attract 500. You want to make sure that regardless of the number that registers for the course, you would have the flexibility to upgrade or downgrade. The room has to be not too small and not too big. 150 people in a 400 room would make Almaghrib look weak and unprofessional. At the same time, if you get a room for 250 but end up having 400 (150 on the waiting list) that would also make a big loss, both spiritually (people who could not learn) and financially. When you have a university, you would easily be able to switch between room sizes up to 2 days before the class (and if they don't have that policy, you could force them to accept it with proper negotiation. Remember, in the real world, the one who is paying is the BOSS, not the university :) If you have to change the venue sizes between different places because of the registration numbers, first you will confuse the students, and second you will most likely loose the down payment, but this would not happen if you switch room sizes between the same university or location. Usually when Almaghrib advertises about a course in any city, they put only the name of the city or university on the flyer, but they never put the room number. The number gets emailed only a few days before the course for those who registered. This keeps the room size flexible up to the last minute. My suggestion is to make an excel sheet with every single room in town, with size, price, location, and phone. That way things are flexible until the last minute based on registration. You could also make a column to give the "Ruuh" a score, since you care about it that much :) I pray this has helped. Jazakum Allah Khair!

Wa'alaykum salaam wa rahmatullah,
@sudarti - Besides technician that will be in charged with PA system & AV, what else we will need the staff for?
I am not very familiar with facilities at UPM, but do you really recommend UPM as potential location for our seminar?
