Asalaamu alaikum,

We, Qabeelat Noor (AlMaghrib Florida), recently had a conference call with Sh. Yaser Birjas where a suggestion was made by the shaykh about launching a blog defending the character of the Prophet (SAWS). I've bounced this idea off of couple of people and have put together a proposal which might end up in a successful blog insha allah. Here are the ideas we've come up with, let me know what you think and how you would like to be involved.

The blog could be organized by noble characteristic--(the way his spoke to people, consultation in leadership, love and mercy with his wives, merciful actions during times of war, how just he was to his body in regards to cleanliness and moderation in eating). We could also begin with the framework that we're not here to defend the actions of the Prophet since it has no bearing on his obedience to God. He acted according to wahy (divine revelation) so we're simply here to elaborate upon his noble acts, actions, and characteristics -- not to start a fire about what we think is right or wrong based on the ideas of today (eg. Aisha's marriage to the Prophet at a young age, cutting off the hand of a thief in certain circumstances).

We could update on a weekly basis and have 3 to 4 writers per month starting the first or second week of February, insha allah. (anyone who's interested please reply to this post!)
One person would be in charge of updating the blog. One person would be in charge of the initial set-up (any volunteers???)
We could have Sh. Yaser Birjas, if he is willing, to review each article before we publish it.
Comments would be allowed but moderated to avoid publishing any rash, temperamental responses
We could get the word out by using Facebook and twitter -- also the blog could provide as a marketing tool for other Qabeelats who host The Prophet's Smile class

Ok, so that's it in a nutshell. What do you all think?
