Assalaamu'alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa barakaatuhu,

This sounds awesome. I was wondering what you mean when you say timings and places are to be announced. Does this mean that there is a chance that the location could be a bit more central? Or will it stay with you sugarlanders?

I pray this effort is successful.

Wasalaamu'alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa barakaatuhu

As-salaamu'alaikum
Inshallah we are planning on holding the classes on Tuesday evenings in a central location.

I am asking this question on behalf of my sis, and was just wondering, will yall be going over Tajweed first and then go from there or yall going to start straigth from the Quran?

I am definitely interested Insha'Allah, but before I commit, I would like to know as to how the program will be structured. I have also been thinking about starting with a Hafidha one on one because I feel like that may be the most beneficial for me. But then I wonder if the group setting will push me more. Allahu Alam. Any thoughts?

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatulah

In Sr.Hana Gamal' class, she reads every ayah to the students and you say the ayah back to her as a class. This way the students know how to read it with proper tajweed, although she hasn't gone over the rules of tajweed. She corrects you if you have misprounouced some ayah.
As for the structure of the class, first, each student recites to Sr. Hana what they have memorized at the beginning of each class. Next, Sr. Hana recites to you the next part you're to memorize. After this, she either goes over the tafseer of the surah or she lectures you over some book that goes over things like Tawheed & Aqeedah. The only homework you recieve in her class is memorizing, which is a page a-day as of right now. This is at least for the Friday classes to my knowledge. I don't know about the Tuesday classes.

Salam Alaykum,

Actually this is not the format she will be having for this hifdth class. The format for this will be only a focus on memorizing. There will not be a tajweed class for it. It will be come to class...go over what we were to have memorized for last week. Read with her what we have to memorize for this week. Have some in class time to memorize and individually recite to her. Then go home and memorize the rest. Come next week and repeat.

She offers tajweed on other days of the week for those interested. I am also teaching it at UH on Tuesdays at 4pm for those who want it for free.

Tomorrow we are planning on meeting at about 1:30 at her institute on the Belt-Way and Briar Forest (about 10 minutes from the beltway and I-10). At this time we'll discuss where everyone wants to start memorizing as well as a good time for everyone to officially have the class. So if u're interested but not sure and want to be a part of the planning then come tomorrow or call her at least at 713-725-0585 (don't worry she's not scary as many of u may know :P)

Also I implore everyone to plz come to this class. I have been waiting for a long time for something like this to motivate me to memorize. When its a small group that slowly dwindles away then we will achieve nothing. An initially large group will give us more chances of success.

Sisters' Hifdh Classes!!
Wednesdays 6:30-9:00 pm Starting October 6th
Location: 888 Beltway 8 (close to the intersection of I 10 and Beltway)

This class is for ANY and ALL sisters who know how to read and wish to memorize the Qur'an. Sister Hana will format the class in the following way:

1.) Review previously memorized verses
2.) recite new verses
3.) Sisters will individually recite back to correct tajweed
4.) Allowed time for memorization

We will Insha'ALlah begin with Juz Amma and then proceed to the first juz. Sisters in the class will benefit from a "buddy system" in which stronger sisters will assist those who are weaker.

For more information post questions on this forum or email ssidd@hotmail.com.

We welcome all Qabeelat Hosna sisters to be a part of this effort to have the most sisters who have memorized the Qur'an! Together Insha'Allah we will help create a new generation of Muslim Women to lead this ummah!
