Asalaamu alaikum,

I was listening to a lecture from audio islam concerning Allah's attributes.. and a question came up.
There are so names that arabs give Allah that are not from the Quran and sunnah, like Sabah, thul-khayma al-zarga, etc.
However, my question is what about Sater.. like when someone falls, some arabs say "Ya Sater" .. from the lecture the instructor said Allah's name is Sateer (or spelled Satir? :/) not Sat-ar..

So is it ok, to say "Ya Sater" (although that seems to come from Satar) or should one just say "Ya Sateer" ?

Inshallah, I would only like either an instructor to answer, or if someone else, then give me evidence inshallah.

Salaam Aalikum

As we said in class, its always best to stick with the precise names found in the texts.

Hence, we should say 'Ya Sitteer' and it is in fact more powerful than 'saatir'.
