Salam to all
Does anybody have any 'exciting' power point presentation about the alMaghrib institute that we will be able use for a promotion of the upcoming Hayl class?
If you have or can prepare it soon, please e-mail it to the admin of this forum.
Thanks

Thanks to sister Um Amir for helping us with the presentation materials. Thank you sister 'jennanahid' for your help. I have already forwarded to you the necessary materials.
What could be a better testimony for this Usool al-Fiqh class when sheikh Muhammad Alshareef himself is saying
Ma sha Allah, I would love to take it with Shaykh Yaser too!
Who among you living in/near Ohio can help promote this upcoming class at qabeelat Hayl??
If you would write it here we will contact you.

Welcome sister Bint AbdelHamid
Insha'Allah we will need your help in promoting this upcoming Usool Al-Fiqh class in Toledo area. Right now you probably can spread the news to friends. And please try to get some of the people around you who will be able to volunteer for the class.
We are expecting a huge turn out from Toledo which have been a good center for youth activities. This saturday Sheikh Muhammad Faqih (one of the Almaghrib instructor) is going to be talking at a youth group (while raising funds for Tsunami victims).
Also please stay tuned for future developments.

Also, I believe one of the brothers on the promotion committee has family in Toledo, so we have a hook up there.

Perhaps there is another conference already planned.

Perhaps there is another conference already planned. before this whole thing gets blown out of proportion, lets ask br. irtizah EXACTLY whats goin on with promo events in the haylstorm.
IF the promo with the shuyookh is gonna be in Cleveland, its gonna be bigger than the one in Purdue and Columbus combined, insha Allah!!! :D
one more thing, could someone e-mail me the phone #s and addies of the masajid in cleveland, akron, springfield, and possibly also flint (mich.)

I spoke with him and Br. Jaffar at the main office earlier (much earlier) today, and after our meeting this Sunday, we'll be able to give them some more information, and we can move forward with the promotions, in shaa Allaah.

asalamu alaikum,
I'm new to the Al Maghrib community and I have no idea how the classes are run. For people coming from out of town, is there lodging available for both weekends?
Just to update how it is in Toledo:
Alhamdulilah flyers about the Usool Ul Fiqh class were distributed throughout the MSA. People are really interested in the class and a couple are planning on going, inshaAllah.
Wa `alaykumussalaam wa Rahmatullaahi wa Barakatuhu
AlMaghrib classes are structured as intensive, double-weekend seminars where an entire college-level course is taught from start to finish. Classes include an exam that occurs anywhere from a month to two months after the last day of normal class.
Though it depends on the instructors, the classes are general structured into 1 hour blocks - 50 minutes of class and 10 minutes of break. There is a 2 hour break in the middle of the day for lunch/rest.
Classes begin, generally, Friday night, and are all day Saturday and Sunday. This happens again the following weekend.
Let us know if you have anymore questions!

abu hurayrah...i think the brother was also asking bout lodging...so clear that up for him as well...if im not mistaken...we have an accomodations committee arranging places for ppl to stay over...could be ppl's houses and apartments for ex...anyone on the haylteam can correct me if im wrong however.

You're right, and I remembered that only after I had logged on.
As Br. Mahin has said, we actually have a whole committee dedicated to the accomodations of those coming in from the outside, so yes, you will have a place to stay - either at someone's home (for free) or at a special hotel/motel with special rates, in shaa Allaah.
Details as the class approaches will be more fruitful, in shaa Allaah.

165 is all you have to pay... you sit in class, participate in everything, etc etc
You get a binder of notes, tuition, exam, etc. Also you get the benefit of the forums, personal Q&A time with the Sheikh every other break at the 50 minute breaks (they take turns between bros and sis).
The only thing you will pay for is room/board (unless hayl hooks up accomodations or you live near hayl) and food (unless hayl does catering or anything like that).
Al Maghrib is built to offer everyway of helping you learn before, during and after class and tehy equip you with all the tools, resources, and contacts with people to do so.
