Asalaamu Alaikum

This is the thread to post any and all suggestions and ideas for the almaghrib promovideo (Project: VIVID)

Layout of the process thus far...

Purpose

INFORM A LARGE AUDIENCE ABOUT ALMAGHRIB, IN A GENERAL WAY. THE REAL, MORE SUTTLE PURPOSE IS TO RELAY THE CULTURE AND BRAND IMAGE OF ALMAGHRIB... BASICALLY TO GET ACROSS HOW COOL WE ARE ALHAMDULILAH
SICK OF DRY POWERPOINT PRESENTATIONS

Vision / Outcome

PREFERABLY IN A LARGE AUDIENCE SETTING, LIKE AT CONFERENCES, ENDOWMENT DINNERS, OR ANY OTHER ISLAMIC EVENTS WHERE ALMAGHRIB IS ALLOTTED PLUG TIME
SOMETHING PEOPLE WILL REMEMBER, SOMETHING THEY'LL TALK ABOUT

Brainstorming

This is where you guys come in. Let us put out ANYTHING that comes to mind.
We want quantity

I got the following Responses:

Hey, bro. Remember how we showed that video at the AlMaghrib booth (aka the ZONE) at Tx Da'wah? That was an amazing eye-catcher. Soooo many people would just stand there and stare at it, almost drooling, drawn in like moths attracted to fire. It worked 1000 times better than any poster or trifold display I've ever seen.

It also reflected the high-energy coolness of AlMaghrib with the instructors doing the yeeeeaaahs and Ustadh doing his martial arts stuff.

I say you make something that can be used at all AlMaghrib booths, just like that video, but with no audio (unless it's a nasheed in the background).

It should be provided to each qabeelah on a V-CD so they can display it using a laptop & projector. It seems like we do booths way more than we do presentations, so we should make our booths outstanding. Maybe taking measures to standardize them and send kits to each Qabeelah.

The kits could consist of posters, brochures, cards, a trifold display, the V-CD with instructions on how to play it, a banner or two, colored duct tape for making the patented Hosna duct tape art on the floor, ideas on drawing large crowds to the table (like having the instructors come sit at the table, maybe signing posters, etc.), a short 1-min speech on what AlMaghrib is about that volunteers can memorize and use when talking to people, and of course, the Hosna Marketing for Dummies guide (tm).

This way, every AlMaghrib booth around the country will reflect the same level of professionalism and excellence. And it'd make it much easier to put a booth together because the materials would be provided to us in the kit.

Use the ABC template that we use for giving speechs in class. It works equally well in story book writing or movie writing.

the ABC template:

Throw your ideas here!

Allah hu Alim, but I think we should do our best to keep away from the info commerical style, its too played out. We want to communicate a 'vibe' an 'attitude' the question of what AlMaghrib is or how it works should be left up to the people behind the booth, the person doing the plug or the 'dry' powerpoint presentation.

As far as ideas go, what if we did something like having a powerful statement flash on the screen ex: "high-energy coolness" followed with corresponding images, testimonials etc.

Something to keep in mind: although we should get as creative as possible, we need to be aware that this video may potentially be viewed by large audiences (ex: ISNA) or auntie/uncle crowds (ex: Endowment dinners) so the content has to be widely applicable

btw, the link for the ABC speech writing format wasn't working. If someone has it on file please email it to marketing@almaghrib.org. JazakAllahKhair
