Assalamualykum wa rehmatullahi wa barakuthu:

I am an engineering student and I want to use my degree for Islam. I was thinking of making a robot(boys)/doll(girls) who does wudu and pray five times a day (when you program it with correct timings) and does other things (so that kids dont put it on the side as boring). Would it be permissible to built such a thing?

If not what other ways can you suggest?

I really want to do something good with my degree, can you suggest something please?

salaamu alaikum warahmatullah

There's also Little Farah :) And she actually talks, all you do is press on her tummy, check out the website and it tells you what she says. My neighbour's daughter has one, it's sooo cute :):)

But having islamic toys whether they make wudu or pray and actually move (i.e. robots) sounds awesome, wonder what the ustad thinks

Subhaana Allaah, is it feasible to built a robot/toy that can do all that - amazing?

who does wudu and pray five times a day (when you program it with correct timings) and does other thingsPlease make sure you have an on/off button, as I can imagine it'd scare my kids if a toy started moving in their toy box at 3 a.m. and made fajr (summer months) whilst they were sleeping and too young to be obliged make salaah themselves.

Also, make sure it's water proof because I know some kid somewhere will try and put it in the bath to watch it make wudhoo.

Once I find out if its halal , then insha'Allah I am going to meet with one of my professors. She is Muslim and an intelligent woman, insha'Allah she will guide through (that is IF its halal).

As I said in my other post I have to discuss this with professor, but first I need to know if its halal.
