I'd like to inform you all that I'll be relocating insha'Allah to Dubai after the Windsor seminar. It breaks my heart to leave this wonderful user community which I have nothing for but praise. May Allah gathers us in Jannatul-Firdous in the company of the Prophet Mohamed peace be upon him and his companions.

I strongly encourage brothers and sisters from various locations to try to attend the Ottawa/Windsor Heart Serene seminars.

Sh. Riaz, WE WELCOME YOU TO UAE!! And look forward to supporting you in ways that please Allah. May Allah bless you with a blessed place to stay. Ameen.

BarakAllah Feek for the clarification!!

(When I was learning the hadith I, it was definitely in context to death, but I for some reason recall that it could be applied generally to other things such as a moving as well, waAllahu Alam.)

I apologize for having confused anyone.

May Allah make the move one that increases your family's success in the hereafter. Ameen!

Assalamalakum,

I for one am glad you are leaving brother and coming over here to the UAE :). Al humdulilah we already had visits from Al Khauther Institute here in Dubai, al humduliah some of the local brothers have managed to get a license and start an English based Islamic Education Institute, Kalemah.ae. Believe me it is not easy to arrange talks like we do in the UK/West.

You need a certain diplomacy and 'wasta', it brings me back to a talk I recently heard, i think it was on the Seerah by Sheikh Yasir, how the only way the Prophet(saw) was able to stay and conduct dawa in Mekkah was through protection of the tribes.

Without the right wasta things can become difficult, Sheikh Bilal Philiphs was asked to leave Dubai, even though he had wasta, it did not go high enough, al humdulilah he was able to go down the road to Qatar. :)

There is without doubt a lot of dawa opportunities, if that is not enough then we have serious interests in translating the double weekends into Arabic, the 9 to 5 bug is here and the Arabic speaking, including Emiratis would love to come to these double weekend courses.

The opportunity is there, with Allah(swt)'s help, sincerity, the right skills, diplomacy and wasta then inshallah it will happen.

AsSalamu alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
I had the opportunity to listen to Sheikh Riad thanks to Radio-on-Demand. (a plug) I had a smile on throughout the lecture. I told my husband later that he had to listen to the lecture. Not only because the topic, but also the speaker.

Mash'Allah ya Sheikh you spoke as if you care about your audiance. There are many excellent speakers, but few really speak with love to the brothers and the sisters in the audiance. May Allah Subanahu wa Talah bless you and your family.

زَوَّدَكَ اللَّهُ التَّقْوَى وَغَفَرَ لَكَ ذَنْبَكَ وَيَسَّرَ لَكَ الْخَيْرَ حَيْثُ كُنْتَ

Re: Relocating to Dubai

Assalamalakum,

Kalemah is in the planning stages, and will definitely face a lot of hurdles, how much we learn from others mistakes, or repeat them is yet to be seen, in the mean time...latest kalemah.ae activities....

"We are planning to do our first seminar with Sheikh Hajjaj (our expert on Seerah, Tafseer and fiqh), which is planning stage on the National Day Weekend. The course structure and designing is in process, and we are also working on the marketing and media needs. We are planning to have the weekend seminar in a big lecture hall rather than the existing KALEMAH office building inshaAllah....." – Quote from Kalemah Project Coordinator / Director.

Organizing in this part of the world has it's own set of trade marks, if someone really wanted to it would not take much effort to produce a Middle East Dilbert guide....either that or i think its a hugh Muslim ploy to teach patience, and it is working… J I for one have many a stories to tell my grand-children the catch-22 process of getting a Education Institute License….in Ajman UAE.

J…. Welcome Sh Riad…..

Even then I wouldn’t leave this place by choice…. Rather I would like to get into the core of ME Dilbert and move to Saudi… inshallah….

There is nothing like the sound of the Adhan, going to pray in the mosque, where-ever you are, what ever you are doing, you can still go and pray in the mosque… al humdulilah……and there’s something about the desert……

….bumping into young children who are Quran hafiz….. stopping to help your brother on the road…. And al humdulilah…. Constantly saying assalamalakum to brothers you don’t know……finding un-covered women a strange sight and not the norm…..not worried that my wife and children can take a midnight stroll on the women only walkway next to the sea…leading to the women only free park…..What? you say how backwards these Moslim’s are…… they treat women so bad they give them their own walkway and don’t let them walk with the men…., no equality….

I am al humdulilah happy with ME Dilbert………..

By the way we run a bed & breakfast next to the women only walkway, women only park and 2 mosques….and one mosque has Moroccan Sheikh a student of Sh ibn Baz(ra). R the mouths watering…….book your next holidays to UAE…..:)

Details on w-w-w mebandb – com. Serious about Hijrah... contact me, i can give you advice, inshallah.

Assalaam'aalaikum,

YOU FORGOT to mention the halal burgers, pizza, Chilis, BBQs, non-muslim sections in some super markets (rather than the other way around), and the 'family orientated' malls, women only shopping centers, women only hours at some clubs and gyms... i could go on-but i wont.

Re: Relocating to Dubai

Inshallah I will be going to U.A.E in December. Maybe for a month and maybe for 4... wallahu a'lam. But for the duration that I am there, I do not want to waste any time. Any English seminars or programs there (specifically in Abu Dhabi), or even Arabic strengthening programs (I speak Arabic, but not confident enough).

I'm sure Shaykh Riad would still be jet lagging while I'm there.

Is AlMaghrib seriously expanding there inshallah? If that's the case, then moving there all together doesn't seem too off the charts.

May Allah grant us all what is khair inshallah.

p.s. If AlMaghrib wants to send an expat... I'm all open for the idea... ;)
