Ramadhan Race

Assalamo-A'likum,

here is a suggestion to EmanRace team.i was thinking and would really love to see, if somting like Eman race could be started for Ramadhan month.It can be exclusive "Ramadhan month race", so that we can push ourselves for doing more and more good deeds,InshAllah.

It can include some of the competition from monthly eman race e.g Tahajjud, daily Sunnah Count. and new things could be added to it e.g Recitation of 1 juzz each day, sadaqah/charity,taraweeh etc.

Because MashAllah this project has set a routine and by the end of the day, you achieve doing more good and consistency in your good deeds.

since this month comes once a year, why not make most of it through this race.

we can even call it 'Ramadhan Race'.please think about it.

jazakum Allah Khairan.

Re: Ramadhan Race

Wa 'alaikum assallam wa rahmatuallahi wa barakatuh,

In case you do not always get to a computer readily for eman race, attached is weekly chart that can be printed out and used for Ramadan to keep track of your ibaadah.

The other attachment is a blank fill-in eastern version for your relatives, so you can get maximum ajar by encouraging them to also participate.

(I received another nice Ramadan check list in my e-mail, and I am attaching that.)

Re: Ramadhan Race

I Challenge [u] To race Me towards Allah, King of Kings...
Assalamu Alaykum waRahmatullaahi waBarakatuh;

I would write a long, diplomatic introduction to this email, but there is no time. I would preamble my challenge to you all with verses and ahadith, but you know them. There is nothing left in this regard... nothing except actions.

Here I am... the destitute slave of Allaah, depending on Allaah, confident in His aid and assistance.. . daring anyone willing to step up... to meet me at the basin of the prophet sallAllaahu alayhi wasallam on the day of judgment having in their scales for this Ramadan the reward for;

- More Ayaat recited this Ramadan than I.
- More Rak'ahs prayed this Ramadan than I.
- More Istighfar (saying Astaghfirullah) made this Ramadan than I.
- More Needy people fed this Ramadan than I.
- More Education of the Muslims this Ramadan than I.

May Allaah brighten my face and yours with this Ramadan, may this challenge be the cause for many to treat this Ramadan as if it is their last, for one must be absolutely certain that one Ramadan will be their last, and one must be absolutely certain that they have no guarantee that this one isn't the last.
Oh Muslims... you shall remember one day these words of mine, and I turn the affair over to Allaah. The month of Ramadan, 1,428 years after the Hijra of our beloved sallAllaahu alayhi wasallam will not be forgotten insha Allaah. Not by us, not by the angels... and undoubtedly not by our Master, subhanahu wa ta'aala.

Ramadan Mubarak everyone - I love you all for the sake of Allaah... and don't forget... the rendezvous point is the basin of the prophet sallAllaahu alayhi wasallam... don't be late!!!

Wassalamu Alaykum Wa Rahmatullaahi Wa Barakatuh.

Re: Ramadhan Race

In addittion to what Ghurabah posted, here are a couple documents that you could find helpful. One of them, the theme is from Imam Suhaib's post here http://forums.almaghrib.org/showthread.php?t=22745
  • Ilm goal: something you want to learn this Ramadan (ex: memorize x surahs, review x surahs, memorize x hadith, review Islamic class notes that you took before, etc)
  • Ibadah goal: What are some things that you want to do this Ramadan in terms of worship? (ex: tarawih every night, tahajjud every night, all sunnah prayers, read Quran every day, finish reading the Qur'an, charity every day, feeding a fasting person, etc.)
  • Akhlaq goal: What are some areas that you feel your manners are lacking and that you would like to fix this Ramadan. It could be something as simple as smiling when you see people to covering your mouth when you yawn, to working better with people, etc.
  • Something you will leave for the sake of Allah: On our paths to getting closer to Allah (SWTA), we have to start cutting things that our allowed but not beneficial. This Ramadan, choose just ONE thing that you find yourself spending time with that is distracting you from YOUR goal of getting closer to Allah (SWTA). Ex: no more facebook, no more music, no more TV, no more espn.com, etc.
Once you fill out this sheet, post it somewhere in your room or house where you will see it EVERY DAY. For example, right above your bed. Before you go to sleep every night, check the sheet and see if you today you worked towards your goals.

The second sheet, Ramadan Deeds Sheet 1428, is a simple way to keep track of how you are doing on a day-to-day basis. The last four rows are empty... put in whatever you like.

Best wishes to everyone to have the best Ramadan of our lives!
