As'salaamu alaykum wa Rahmatullah,
Alhamdulillah a while back i listened to a lecture and transcribed it, within the lecture the brother mentioned this hadith. I want to use this hadith for a certain speech i'm preparing but i have no idea where it's from or it's authenticity. I was wondering if anyone can help me out. All help will be much appreciated. Jazakum Allahu khayran! This is the hadith: A companion came to RasulAllah sal Allahu alayhi wa ‘salaam and asked him for advice. RasulAllah sal Allahu alayhi wa ‘salaam said to Khatib Bhaghdhadi: ‘Entrap knowledge’ and he said shall I tell you how to do this and he said; ‘by writing it down, because knowledge will run away from you the way a fox runs away from a hunter, you have to trap it and then you have to learn to keep it and then maintain it. Or if you know another hadith that portrays the same message please post it. Last edited by Cool Muslimah; 07-28-2008 at 03:09 PM. |
