Marriage/Family counselor in Chicago area
As-Salaam-Mu-Alaikum Everyone,
Does anyone have any recommendations or references for marriage/family counselor's in the Chicagoland area? Someone who is an experienced trained professional in the field and most importantly with sound Islamic knowledge as it applies to marriage and the family. Not looking for an Imam or an Islamic scholar since a very knowledgeable one is being consulted for guidance already. Jazak'Allah Khairan. |

Sh. Abdool Rahman Khan (aka the SHARK) is awesome, very down to earth and approachable, even though his learning is quite high (a madinah university grad).. i know he has done marriage counseling, and he's very loved amongst the brothers in the community
i'd say try him for sure and i know you didn't ask for someone really up there, but i'm sure you're aware shaykh yaser birjas is now from chicago? i don't know what his schedule is like, but never let that deter you, he's not just a man of the global community, but as he explained in the live fundraiser last night, he's a man of the local community too

Jazak'Allah Khairan for the recommendations provided so far. Insh'Allah I plan on reaching out to the folks you recommended. Yasir Birjas is an awesome source of guidance and I definitely will reach out to him.
In addition, can someone also provide names of female marriage counselors as well? |

Shaykh Yaser would be number one on my list. I don't know of any female ones, but I'm pretty sure both him and Shaykh Abdool Rahman could help out for both men and women, or at least, direct you to someone who could help out iA.
