Re: Topics covered in LOG?
Assalamu-alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatu,
Essentially these are the point by point topics covered in LOG (these were covered when I took LOG): Topics to be Covered in this Seminar: 1.) Definition of Tawheed; 2.) Importance of Tawheed; 3.) Categories of Tawheed (history; differences of opinion regarding categorization schemes); 4.) Tawheed in Allah's Lordship (Ruboobiyyah): reality and definition; 5.) Quranic Proofs of Ruboobiyyah; 6.) Western Proofs for the Existence of God (Ontological, Cosmological, Kalam, etc.); - These are the proofs used by Philosophers 7.) Critique of Western Proofs; comparison w/ Islamic Proofs Atheism (arguments; refutation); 8.) Ruboobiyyah by itself is incomplete (proofs) - THIS WAS THE MOST IMPORTANT CONCEPT OF THE CLASS (Ruboobiyyah necessitates Uloohiyyah) - Shaykh Yasir kept stressing the importance of this point using evidence from the Jahilliyah Arabs and other sources 9.) Allah's Right to Be Worshipped (Uloohiyyah); 10.) Definition of Worship; 11.) Meaning of Ilah; meaning of Kalimah; 12.) Manifestations of Worship (Du'a, Sajdah, Tawwakul, Sabr, etc...); 13.) Deviations in Worship (Talismans, Magic, Astrology, etc...); 14.) Other concepts (Tabarruk; Tawassul; Shafa'aah; etc...); 15.) Shirk: definition; history; dangers; categories; causes; 16.) Evidences used by Muslims who seek to justify Shirk; 17.) Kufr and Nifaq: definition; dangers; categories; relationship with Shirk Manifestations of Major Kufr; This was taken from http://www.almaghrib.org/log.php If you would like further information about any of the points just ask. Wassalamu-alaikum, Haroon |
