Assalamu Alaikum,

ok so we've been talking...us sisters... and we've come up with a "vision" for Qabeelat Ansar. ready? ok

So we wanted Qabeelat Ansar to be "socially active" in Ottawa's community (muslim and non-muslim). Have a mission statement that incorporates social work, social movement, etc. An example: create a city-wide initiative/program for orphans (muslim and nonmuslim). The sad thing is that a big portion of orphans are muslim and get adopted by non-muslim families....we're losing our youth this way. Another example: fundraisers for Ottawa foodbank....etc

The vision is to have Qabeelat Ansar to be known by muslims and non-muslims alike as a socially active group of people who are giving back to the community! Imagine the DA'WAH!!

So...if it is agreed that we can have that as our vision/mission....we'll have to come up with a slogan that incorporates that insha Allah.

Any thoughts?

some of the ones initially suggested could also work....like "Simple Servants, Greater Goal" or "Mission: Submission" .... my two cents

Wa 'alaykum as salaam wa Rahmatullaahi wa Barakaatuhu

Maa shaa Allaah. This is a great idea sister Siham.

This hadeeth came to my mind, maybe we can derive something from it, In shaa Allaah:

Narrated 'Aaishah (radiyAllaahu 'anha)

Some of the wives of the Prophet (sal Allaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) asked him, "Who amongst us will be the first to follow you (i.e. die after you)?" He said, "Whoever has the longest hand." So they started measuring their hands with a stick and Sauda's (radiyAllaahu 'anha) hand turned out to be the longest. (When Zaynab bint Jahsh (radiyAllaahu 'anha) died first of all in the caliphate of 'Umar (radiyAllaahu 'anhu)), we came to know that the long hand was a symbol of practicing charity, so she was the first to follow the Prophet (sal Allaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) and she used to love to practice charity. (Sauda (radiyAllaahu 'anha) died later in the caliphate of Muawiya).

-Saheeh al-Bukhaaree (Volume 2, Book 24, Number 501)

Suggestion: "Purifying our hearts, by our hands."

what would your vision look like at it's best?
The more clearer the vision, the easier it'll be to put it into words.

I would recommend that one stands up and really sees and feels that vision. A vision that endures, a vision that totally excites.

After that, you should make a purpose statement, why MUST I achieve this?

Then, choose 3 things you are going to focus on within the vision. Then, make 1 year and then 90 day goals.

wAllahu 'alam.

at its best?....in my mind's eye.... Ottawa's Helpers! Qabeelat Ansar contributing to the community - so that if Qabeelat Ansar was to up and leave Ottawa....Ottawa would feel it. Ansar would be a household name!

How, Why, Plan of Action

Ansar.....the floor is yours...
