It cannot be easy trying to help others deal with such addictions. May Allah reward you, grant you strength, and grant you and those who are suffering such afflictions success. Ameen.
I recall hearing that there were some who regularly got drunk during the days of the first generations of Muslims. Though I wouldn't even know where to begin, I wonder if we may also find guidance in the way the earliest generations supported/helped their breatheren who were dealing with addictions (or potential addictions) to alcohol? (If anyone does/has already derived such guidance, please do share the lessons you derive.) Jazaakum Allahu khayran

Addiction is not just a bad habit, but it is a disease - either mentally or physically.
