Arrow asalamu alaikum........I'm in the building....

asalamu alaikum

well i'm another in the long line of Newbies. First and foremost i'd like to thank Allah for making me a muslimah and for giving me great friends who've introduced me to almaghrib. Sadly i was unable to attend the last session here in Toronto, but inshallah i'll aim for the august classes (i believe there is one......)

oh and thanx Namarig....and areej......and i'll find out what names the rest of you are using......

If you missed the first class, be sure to check out the BOC GEM thread.. ofcourse its not the same as attending BOC in person but it'll do till August

Yeah I've been doing a lot of reading around the forum. Okay i feel kinda foolish 'cuz i can't figure it out on my own, but what do BOC and GEM stand for?

BOC stands for 'Breach of Covenant'. It was the Tafsir Surah Baqarah seminar that was held in Toronto a couple of weeks ago. GEMs are basically the thoughts/quotes/words of wisdom that are mentioned during class.
