Post Re: ThE VoRteX

Salam

I think everyones been stumped on this one, and just from memory this is what I recall

Background
Banu Taym had apostated or refused to give zakah(time of Abu Bakr)
Aday ibn Haatim is from Banu Taym.

1)
He went to them to try and get them to come back to Allah
That is his plea.
Wallahu A'lam
I think they did listen to his plea

2)
Khalid Ra's army is waiting to attack
Aday goes to him and asks for a chance to talk to his tribe
That is his plea
Khalid agrees

NEXT QUESTION:Breifly state the history between Rasool SAW and
Tolayha Al-Asdi

I was discussing this with another sister and what we got was that he did give bay'ah to the Rasul Allah sal Allahu 'alayhi wa sallam, and thus became Muslim.

WAllahu a'lam. Anyone get anything else?

I'll ask the next question for now: Give some characteristics of 'Abdullah ibn Azzubair.
I would say:

1.Brave/daring

Example: incident with ’Umar radi Allahu 'anh , cupping incident, in jihaad

2.well-Balanced

Example: his training consisted of his mind, body, and soul [knowledge, jihad, and worship]

3.Firm

Example: in his prayers, It was said when he prayed, he would not move, and that he would be like the wall of the ka'bah, solid without moving.

wAllahu a'lam.

Before Islam, Tolayha radi Allahu 'anh was a soothsayer. During the life time of Rasul Allah sal Allahu 'alayhi wa sallam, Tolayha had claimed prophethood. So Dirar bin Al-Azwar was sent to him, however, Rasul Allah sal Allahu 'alayhi wa sallam past away before Dirar had reached Tolayha. Dirar returned, and Tolayha was left alone. So I guess that was his relationship with Rasul Allah sal Allahu 'alayhi wa sallam. WAllahu a'lam.

soothsayer====>Muslim====>Claiming Prophethood====>Shaheed [after repentence]

Jazaaki Allahu Khayr.

Question: In the midst of the battle of Yarmook, Khalid ibn Waleed was given a message from 'Umar radi Allahu 'anh (now the new Khaleefa) to step down from leadership.

1.

a)What were some of the reasons for this decision

b)What was Khalid ibn Waleed's reaction

Quote:
a)What were some of the reasons for this decision
b)What was Khalid ibn Waleed's reaction
Reasons:

a) Different leadership styles of Khalid and 'Umar - Khalid was inclined to take matters into his own hands, while 'Umar prefered major decisions to be run through him first. Their styles clashed.

b) The fitnah of Khalid's success. Because he won so many battles, many people would only fight under his command - no one wanted to join the other armies (i.e. the army of al-Muthanna). 'Umar (ra) feared that the people had started to link the victories to Khalid, rather than to the Mercy of Allah (swt).

Reaction: He said something along the lines of "I can serve Allah just a well as a soilder, as I can as a leader" - Acceptance and Sincerity in intention.

Abu 'Ubaydah took his place as Ameer of the army and said: "We do not want the power of this world, neither do we work for this world. We are all brothers in working to please Allah" -- Masha'Allah

wAllahu a'lam.

Re: ThE VoRteX

Opps.

Before Conquest I knew almost nothing about 'Uthman (ra). Now I'm like completely amazed by him. Radi Allahu anhu.

Question: Why was 'Uthman given the kunya (nickname) "Dhun Nuurayn" and what does it mean? Name one of his virtues.

Re: ThE VoRteX

DHun-Noorayn literally means the one of two lights and this was because he was able to marry two of the Prophet SAW. OBviously not a the same time but when the first passed away, RAsool SAW married the other to him, and he SAW said that if Allah had given him 1000 daughters, he would marry them one after another to Uthmaan. One of the biggest virtues I beleive of Uthmaan is bravery. Many people would argue this but heres one example. The people are angry with his decisions and they're planning to kill him and disturbing his property etc. Ali RA offers to place Hasan and Husein by his door all day and all night so as to protect him from these uprisings... and he refuses. Does this not show complete selflessness and trust in Allah!

NEXT QUESTION: Why were all of the people of Iraq so devoted to Mu'awiyah RA
