Banu Wasat (Chi-town Al Maghrib) Updates Thread

As salaamu alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuhu,

As you know, numerous brothers and sisters are looking to bring AlMaghrib to Chicago, alhamdullillah

This thread will serve as the update area for any who are interested in knowing where we are, and what our progress is. If anyone has questions, those can be addressed here as well, insha'Allah.

The road map for 2005 is as follows:

1. The Chicago AlMaghrib Promo:
Date: Sept 30th - Oct 2nd

b. Shaykh Muhammad Ibn Faqih
c. Dr. Ashraf Ismail

2. First Chicago AlMaghrib Class:
Date: TBD
Class: Conquest: History of the Khulafaa
Location: TBD

perhaps it would be wiser to move up the chicago December dates..because i'm sure many have finals the first week of december allahu alam...(my finals dont' matter hehe i dont' even study but we'll be considerate of others inshallah)

The Banu Wasat Shura weighed out the pros and the cons of holding an earlier seminar vs one the following year, and we did take finals into consideration as well.

In the end, we decided the best course of action would be to hold the class at the time we've proposed, wallahu a'lam.

As for holding the course earlier, that would not be possible because Shaykh Gyasi is scheduled to teach a Conquest the two weekends before he arrives in Chicago.
