the stronger opinion

As-salaamu'alaykum Shaykh AbdulBary,

In your class, you almost always mentioned "the stronger opinion" for different rulings.

1) I understand the stronger opinion comes from anaylizing ahadith, but I was wondering who is doing [or who did] the anaylizing? From what specific scholars are we getting the stronger opinion ruling from? and how did they determine it? and when did they determine it?

2) Also, on the very first day of class you told us that we should learn one madhab well [and then look for 'the stronger opinion', etc.] Is it okay to pray according to the rulings of one madhab? since when we take all the 'stronger opinions', we're not praying according to any one madhab.

Have you taken the class "Code Evolved"? If not, it may help you with your questions.

It discusses the Madaahib, the following of one and how scholars analyze the evidences and why they may differ.
