Full of excitment

Assalamu alaikum

I've always known about al-maghrib, and i've always longed to attend the classes. The only connection i have had with al-maghrib was through the forums, and i loved it. I would always sit on the computer and read what other people post, and sometimes posted replies. But now i get to attend my first class and i am full of excitment. I can wait. so, I was wondering since i have never attended a class previously, can someone give me an idea of what the classes are like.

Which seminar are you about to attend inshaa' Allah? If it's a seminar I've attended, it will help me give you a more complete answer inshaa' Allah.

AlMaghrib for me was a life changing experience. I was enrolled by someone else as a 'gift' and didn't really know what to expect. The class begun as something wierd and different, however as we dug into the material-- the way it was presented and the actual stuff we learned was like nothing else I had ever experienced. Of course I was, and still am, thirsty for as much Islamic knowledge as I can get.

The main difference I found between AlMaghrib and any other class, lecture or halaqa was the extraction of 'wisdom' and lessons from the material. These are the 'gems', and emanrushes. its like getting a chill down your spine and goosebumps at the same time.

By the end of the course I didn't want it to end and found myself already missing the teacher and the new friends I had made.

I see you are part of Majd! There are actually other people who also havent attended a class yet, so please feel welcome to participate in the discussions! who knows, you might have some amazing ideas and talents which could be contributed.

Alhamdulillah glad it was such a good experience for you Yasser. I want to try and attend an Al-maghrib class here in Toronto too insha'Allah, but right now money is kind of tight. But hopefully in the future insha'Allah I can have the same experience as you did, and attend an Al-Maghrib course and benefit from it like you and many other people have.

Save $40 a month and ask your parents to fund the remainder. If you tell them it's to learn about Islam they will insha'Allah jump at the opportunity to earn the pleasure of Allah. So make intention and ask Allah for assistance! Ask your local imam, ask an uncle, and if I get a job by march then I too will contribute to the br. Ismail fund!

i thank you all for your help and support but i am still waiting for the day i get to attend one of these classes because i missed the class i was suppose to attend because of some stuff that have come up.

Truly, the classes are exhausting and inundating...but in an amazing way!
