Blitz Plan

Aslaamu Alaykum,

Alhamdullilah we have came up with a blitz plan for these last 10 days of Ramadan:

Insh Allah this Jummuah we are gonna blitz the following places with flyers and registration forms for jummuah prayer:

1. Mcgill (hassan, naved and sr saba are responsible)
2. Concordia (myself, mustafa, and sr.shama is suppose to get some sisters)
3. South SHore Masjid (asim baig)
4. West Island Masjids ( Omar khan)
5. Champlain College (I will get them the stuff)
6. Vanier (omar Khan and Sr.asma)
7. UDEM (sr.Barbara)

And list any other places that we can hit.

After that insh Allah on the 27 night of Ramadan which is sunday we will hit 3-4 places for taraweh and give talks right before witr prayer.

And we will also set up registration tables on the eid prayers.

Common people, we gotta pick up all our efforts our numbers are really low now, by the end of ramadan we really want to pick up our numbers. Put your trust in Allah (swt) and we can do it.

Remember, purify our intentions the only reason we are doing this is for the dawah. Is inviting people to their deen so they can learn more.

Re: Blitz Plan

I received a notice from a friend about the "Duties of Muslims in the Last Third of Ramadan" By Dr. Muhammad Abu Laylah in which it was mentioned:

"The first third of the month of Ramadan is the time for Rahmah (Mercy), the second third is for forgiveness, the third is for the release from Hell-fire…The duties of the Muslim in this last third of Ramadan are to try his best to perfect his fasting, to avoid any shortcomings or sins that can harm his fasting, to offer more prayers, preferably in congregation, to advance in reading the Qur'an, making dhikr (remembrance of Allah), and helping others to be more committed to religion...."

I highlight the last part to indicate it is completely fine to discuss the Almaghrib classes during these times because it falls under this attribute of recommended activities for this last third. There is no need for pausing and wondering if it is appropriate or for feeling shy about it. Alhamdu lillahe, Allah is making it easy for us to help others be more committed to religion!!! Subhan Allah!

Re: Blitz Plan

Salam alykum, I picked up the posters and cards and from the tally sheet in the box it looks like west island mosques, including Abbott, and stores are covered; and McGill jumma. I am covering the downtown mosques that I know of, Fatima, Masjid al-Ommah and the halal stores in the area, and tomorrow Assuna and the stores along the jean-talon strip. A brother posted up the poster on the main door to the concordia musalla and it looks great, mashallah. We will "paint the town red" so they say, inshallah, the blitz has begun. As for making announcements, I will ask the imams to make mention of the course, perhaps something simple like "don't forget to register" mixed with key motivations. I am actually going to ask the imams to make sure at least 5 people take the course from thier mosque, stressing the importance of having strong and committed members of the umah increasing their knowledge and soundness of worship. They should jump at the Zakat aspect. The washback effect will be great for their ummah. Everyone, speak to the imams and strike a co-operation with them insha Allah. We need to stress the urgency for them to get involved, in sha Allah.

Re: Blitz Plan

Asalamu ALaykum,

This weekend is EXTREMLY important for us. Our numbers seriously have to double by the weekend. Everyone pass out flyers and postcards and get things rolling.

ALso, pick up the phone call people you know. If our numbers dont grow our class is going to get cancelled and we cant allow that to happen !
