Banu Haqq website idea brainstorm

As Salaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatahu. Here is where we will list various ideas of our website design for brainstorming purposes. Insha'Allah everyone will put forth their best efforts; and ultimately I will be the one that takes the best of those efforts and applies them accordingly. Remember that the more ideas we put forth in a timely fashion, the quicker we will have the website completed insha'Allah. With that said, here are my ideas...

since we are Banu Haqq, which has to do with Truth or something that is more deserving over another.. I think of outer space for some reason.. like a nebula and planets in the distance and foreground.. maybe have the different links be in the images of planets, and through Flash, have them animate into an orbit when clicked on, leading to the next page. Allahu-Alim.

I also enjoyed the idea mentioned on the call, of making the site dealing with the Qur'an. To have overlays of semi-transparent images of old pages of the Qur'an as the main design. Have the text fonts be similiar to the calligraphic Arabic in the Qur'an, and when you click on each link, it fades away like wind.. maybe even play portions of surahs that contain the word "Haqq."

What about we have Surah Asr as the opening.. complete with an animation of clocks and lands throughout the ages (how they progressed from then to now). As the background for each page, we have a different land that progressively grows in age.. this might take some brain boiling programming (lol) but it's worth a shot insha'Allah.

Speaking of "brain boiling," my brain is shutting down b/c I need sleep. Insha'Allah you all forgive me for whatever I said in error or offense.. all good came from Allah(swt) and whatever ill I said was from my errors. I know you all are used to me being the silly one and cracking jokes, but I'm too sleepy to laugh.. plus whenever I answer my phone, I get an immediate headache.. maybe b/c my antenae is missing lol Allahu-Alim. I look forward to reading what you guys post.. and on that note.. As Salaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatahu and keep the Muslims in your duahs (especially me). lol

I absolutely love the idea of having Surah 'Asr on the front page...and you can have the word Haqq in bold or something, so that it stands out. And like you said, maybe we can find various ayahs throughout the Qur'an that contain the word 'Haqq' in it, and put an ayah on each page throughout the website...making the word 'haqq' in bold again so that it pops out at the viewer.

Very good ideas, indeed...see, you just gotta' be a little more optimistic about the name Haqq, and insha'Allah the ideas will unfold

in shaa' ALLAH all of banu haqq is in a state of increasing iman & taqwa !!

Suwila - I looove the idea of the surat al `asr & haqq being highlighted as well as other ayas with haqq in them. Here's a link that has all of the ayas that have the word "haqq" transliterated in english in them and another link that has all of the ayas with the word "
حق " in arabic in them. Hope that helps with the brainstorming !! in shaa' Allah.

KrazyGenius - can we add the old qur'an pages theme to the back of the ayas? so to make it seem like the word haqq or the aya with the word haqq is popping out of them in shaa' Allah ??

Also, can we think of something that ties in a sunny socal theme to it ?? I was looking @ the other Qabeela's sites and the ones that had something to do with the area they were living in looked really nice...

more ideas to come after my eman rush @ the msa west conference in shaa' Allah !!

Jazukullah khair insha'Allah.. I would try to out do Islamaholic(Angie) in greeting.. but.. uhh.. there's nothing really you can say after that.. except.... As Salaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu wa Nuruhu wa Ridwanu wa Da'muhu wa.. yahdikum'laah azwajin saliheena wa thayibin wa mumineena fi hadi al dunya wa fi al akhira. BAM! And you doubt me? Mr. Masha'Allah?! LOL!! j/k May Allah(swt) Guide us all insha'Allah, and let not my humor be perceived as arrogance insha'Allah. Ameen.

Now back to the matter at hand.. So I see you all are feeling the idea of old Qur'anic texts and Surah 'Asr.. how about we make the entire website in the form of an old scroll.. the entire background will be in the appearance of old, time withered paper.. the fonts will be similiar to calligraphic Arabic.. the links will fade like wind once clicked on.. and the website will roll up and down (like a scroll) to navigate between pages.. all the while on each page we play a different surah with the word "Haqq"(bold text) in it translitterated across the page til it fades away. Yay or Nay? Let me know what you think insha'Allah. I'm still brainstorming.. so keep the input coming insha'Allah. Salaamz

Khalil - YaaaY !! i really like this idea ma shaa' Allah !!

Aliha - Natural beauty !! Lovin' It !! can we put a beach scene? sunset? same colors and tones as the scroll? or would that be totally random?? maybe an intro or banner with a gorgeous beach scene with goldish/sunny tones (ex: 1, 2, 3)? and then the scroll beneath it?? but then how would al haqq and the old Qur'an pages fit on the beach?? (excuse my randomness - thinkin' out loud here)

this way the "Ride the Wave of Knowledge" slogan would fit.. what about "Ride the Wave of Truth" since we are Banu Haqq!?

oh and i thought of some other audio piece we could play...you know that du`aa that goes :

"Allahumma lakal-hamd anta nuru samawaati wal-ardi wa ma fi hin wa lakal hamdu antal-Malaku samawaati wal-ardu wa ma fi hin wa lakal-hamdu antal-haqq wa waadukal haqq wa qawlokal haqq wal liqaoka haqq wal jannatu haqq wan naru haqq was sa`atu haqq wan nabiyuna haqq wam Muhammadun haqq "

i have the audio du`aa' by Al`Afasy (mp3) that includes the above portion-- we'd have to cut somehow (i don't know how to do that tho)

Masha'Allah the ideas are amazing!! I personally looove Angie's idea of putting the dua' on our website. I think the repetition of "haqq" over and over would be awesome to have in the intro so immediately when they open the website, that dua' starts playing.. *excited*

I also agree with the idea of having the website based on nature scenes. maybe we can have a type of scrolling menu with a bunch of scenic pictures.. I saw this website in an email and i reaally liked how the scrolling menu on the right hand side looked (http://designedwithfaith.com/) maybe Insha'Allah we can do something similar to that as a way to navigate through the website..

As Salaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatahu. Ok guys, this is what I have. In regards to all of the ideas presented in this forum, I took it upon myself to select the ones I liked the best, that were relevant to the site, and that seemed to be easiest to work with insha'Allah. Here they are:


*Display "Haqq" in bold letters on the site
*Display a different ayat per page
*Use the "old Qur'an" pages theme
*Website in appearance of an old scroll
*Calligraphic Arabic fonts
*Links fade like wind when clicked on
*Website rolls up and down like a scroll for navigation
*Each page plays a different ayat with "Haqq" in bold and translitterated til it fades
*SoCal themed: calm beaches, an ocean, sunsets


Now as far as the intro to the site goes; I was thinking of this:

Imagine hearing ocean waves along with a soothing wind. Al 'Afasy fades in and the screen is still black. Now the black screen fades to a vast ocean and an amazing sunrise. A lone bottle carrying a "message," so to speak, floats into the picture. Just as the duah by Al 'Afasy fades out, the bottle crashes on to a SoCal beach. Upon its crash, the message (the scroll) comes out and lands near "Banu Haqq" written in the sand with a stick. The scroll opens to reveal our website insha'Allah. As it opens, ayat 42 of Surah Baqarah plays; complete with translitteration and translation. "Cover not Truth with falsehood, nor conceal the Truth when ye know (what it is)." The wording fades to give the user the opportunity to navigate our website.

Well... that's what I have thus far masha'Allah. Insha'Allah you all like it.. if not, then we all reserve the rights to our own opinions. Seeing as though I am no tyrant; if you propose something better than what I have stated, I will honestly concider it in the final version. Let me know what you all think insha'Allah.

Oh.... EXTREMELY, INSANELY, VERY important.. I need the "mp3" (not RealAudio files) of Al 'Afasy's duah, otherwise the intro won't be the same. May Allah(swt) Reward our efforts. And any injustice we may have inflicted upon others knowingly or unknowingly, may Allah(swt) Forgive our actions insha'Allah. Ameen. As Salaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatahu.
