Wiping during wudhu

as-Salaamu 'alaykum

I've been suffering from waswas recently when it comes to wudhu, so I'd really be happy if someone could help me out.

I'm wondering about what the 'ulama defined as "wiping" the head and ears during Wudhu.
Do all of the area of the head and ears have to be reached by water for the Wudhu to be valid, or is it okay to simply wipe and then ignore if you see that some parts of the hair are dry or if you suspect that your ears weren't fully reached by water?

Also, if i understand it correctly, when washing your face, you have to make sure that the roots of the hair surrounding your face (like above your forehead) have to be washed. Is this true?

Re: Wiping during wudhu

asalamu alaykum wa rahamatulahi wa barakatu,

according to my notes, the face is defined as what someone can see when they are looking at your face. allahu alam

and far as the other questioned you asked i am not sure.

asalamau alaykum wa rahamatulahi wa barkatu.

Re: Wiping during wudhu

Assalamu 'alaikum,

As for the face, then the right definition is given in this thread. The face is whatever one sees when they look at you. And when one washes it, one makes sure they wash from forehead to chin and ear to ear.

As for the ears and head, you take the main three fingers of each hand, wet them and then wipe them through the top of your head to the back and bring them back to the front of the head.

With that same water, you put your forefinger in the ear and your thumb in the back of the ear for each ear. The same water for the head is sufficient for the ear as well.

Wallahu 'Alem.
