“It was reported that Umar ibnul-Khattab asked Ubayy ibn Ka`b about Taqwa. Ubayy said, "Have you ever walked on a path that had thorns on it'' 'Umar said, "Yes." Ubayy said, "What did you do then" He said, "I rolled up my sleeves and struggled." Ubayy said, "That is Taqwa.”



In February 2006, Qabeelah Hayl was officially discontinued as an AlMaghrib recognized Qabeelah. All the references of Qabeelah Hayl from forums and AlMaghrib website was taken off.



Then came...



The realization:



“The truth was that the Haylers took AlMaghrib for granted. We convinced ourselves and similarly led others to believe this theory about the weakness in the community, thereby avoiding the responsibility that was ours and ours alone.”



Then, their resolve:



“Alhamdulilah, the Muslim community after receiving our efforts is anxiously awaiting the return of AlMaghrib in Columbus. We’ve been asked over and over again, “When is the next class? When is it coming?”Promotion after promotion, the audience gets bigger, the questions increase and our response stays as optimistic as “We’re working to bring it back. Inshaa Allah in 2007."



Then, Optimism:



“Who would have ever thought? A dead Qabeelah with decreasing numbers of students, a Qabeelah that lacked in committed volunteers, a Qabeelah that took AlMaghrib for granted and did not benefit themselves or their community with what they learned, was about to revive itself like no other. Suddenly, these exact issues have become the reasons why Hayl is subject to becoming the next hot Qabeelah.”



And then back with a BANG:



“ The forums: Alhamdulilah, we have risen from our slumber, and seeking the numerous benefits of the AlMaghrib student forums. We are interacting with the other qaba’il, the AlMaghrib Shuyookh, as well as other members of Hayl.



We have literally went from being unaware of anything and everything Hayl related that occurred on the forums, to entering and winning sizzlers, conducting RELOADED exams, and joining online study sessions.”
