Did you give da'wah today? What did you do?
Assalamu alikum wa rahmatullahi wa barkatuhu..
Oh man.. i'm so pumped right now!!! Alhamdullilah Alhamdullilah Alhamdullilah! Ok, so this is what we did.. I mentioned in one of the other threads that in my arabic class at the university i asked this guy who sat in front of me if he wanted to be muslim. He politely replied, "not at this point in my life." But then after class he said some things which made me feel as if I invaded a very personal and private space of his. So anyway, I began thinking about how annoying some of those jehova's witnesses can be and how I don't really like it when they push me and stuff. Anyway.. I was feeling quite guilty so .. upon the advice of people I went to class this morning with a gift (one of my favourite kinds of honey wafer cookies) and a book the msa da'wah table always hands out (A Brief Illustration of Islam..something along those lines). So, I went a little early and found him in class and said, "Look, I'm sorry if I came across pushy, and the last thing I want is for you to run away from Islam so I got you a cookie and this book." I TOOK CONTROL OF THE CONVERSATION AND TOTALLY SHOCKED HIM!!! Anyway.. then you know what he said to me? He said "No, I like Islam, I wouldn't walk away from it".. SUBHANALLAH!! He took the book, and he began reading it!!! Ok ok.. that's just one part.. .....THERE'S MORE! So my Arabic class...has a few muslims..and one of them is a brother taking Al Maghrib's Fiqh Ad-Da'wah class!!!! How cool is that? Anywhoo, so.. SubhanAllah honestly I'm extremely teary right now, because we actually did something today! We actually gave da'wah.. I pray inshAllah that my whole arabic class becomes muslim inshAllah. Ok sorry..so anyway we had a test this morning on Al mufradaat (i'm learning, i hope i said that right). There was a brother who came in late and he spoke to the teacher about why he was late. Later after I had handed in my test the teacher told me that this brother's bag was stolen and she asked me to pass around an envelope for donations for the brother. So the whole class pitched in and gave this brother some money (inshAllah my teacher's muslim, I'll ask her next class). Anyway, so the brother was obviously taken aback and was very shy and stuff..and the teacher started saying how she felt extremely bad because the same thing happened with her son and stuff. So.. the brother who's also taking the almaghrib class (and is a convert so that it self surprises people) said to the whole class, "Allah says in the Qur'an ' La yakallaf Allahu nafsan illa wa sa'aha'". The teacher was SOOO impressed she wrote it on the board, and the brother explained what it meant. Everyone wrote it down in their books!!! The teacher also said.. YOU SHOULD LEARN THINGS FROM THE QURAN FOR IT'S SPIRITUAL VALUE no matter what religion you belong to (i hope they didn't hear the last part but inshAllah they will all read the Qur'an and becom emuslim!!!!!) I became so teary! May Allah grant that brother Jannat Al Firdaus. May Allah grant all the muslims Jannat Al Firdaus. May Allah guide the non muslims in my class to take the shahada. May Allah guide all the non muslims to take the shahada. I love you all for the sake of Allah subhana wa ta'ala! And Allah knows best. Ok ok, i gotta go and tell my husband this.. he'll be on his lunch break soon! What did you do today??? Tell me stories so that I may benefit from them! W'salamu alikum wa rahmatulllahi wa barakatuhu. |

Ma sha Allah.
You know why it feels soo good to do da'wah ... because when we do we are REAL. When we don't ... we are still putting up the fake makeup of who we are not. Mubarak! In sha Allah, there is more goodness that will come from this. |

Re: Did you give da'wah today? What did you do?
Asalamu alaykum
I made dawah to a Muslim that is confused about her deen. As we all know that excessive questions can lead one astray (shaytan's tactics). She argues that her teacher is on the truth (ahlul sunnah wal jama'ah). But the thing I found strange was his teachings. He calls Ibn Uthaymeen a kuffar and teaches this to his students as well as many other things that are not permissible for a Muslim to do so (i.e wear bracelet it will protect you (shirk). How can I show this sister that her teacher's teachings are not correct (because she believe that her teacher is protecting them from false people/ways)? jazakallahu khayran
