Class Details: Code of Scholars @ Wedad
ATTN: Students, Code of Scholars at Wedad Details regarding March 23-25 & March 31-April 1 | Sacramento, CA The Code of Scholars: Usool Al Fiqh by Shaykh Yaser Birjas, will take place, Insha'Allah, on March 23 - 25 and March 31 – April 1, 2007 in Sacramento. Please review some important information below in regards to this seminar at Qabeelat Wedad. 1. Pre-registration We encourage ALL of you to reach out to at least two more people to register for this Course as this is an essential course for every student serious about gaining Islamic knowledge, or looking to learn about jurisprudence and the derivation of Islamic rulings. If you have family and friends who are interested in registering for the course, please tell them to enroll ASAP online. 2. Class location The course will be held in the Multi-pupose Room at Masjid Annur in Sacramento, California. Masjid Annur Address: 6990 65th St. Sacramento, CA 95823 Location MAP URL: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=6990+6...Sacramento,+CA 3. Payment Students must pay the complete tuition before class. Failure to do so may prevent students from being admitted into class and/or receiving class materials. There will be on-site registration at 6:00 pm where you can make your payment before the class begins. Payments made on-site will require an additional $10 charge. Pre-Payment (Online/ Mail-in Check) : $165 (Seat Guaranteed) On-Site Payment (Check/Credit Card): $175 (Cash will not be accepted on-site, We appologize for any inconvience it may cause). Please make your payment ASAP for our records to be updated in time before class. *Seat confirmation is guaranteed only after a payment is made, and will be based on a first PAY first serve basis. *Students paying on-site must bring cheque, money order (payable to AlMaghrib Institute) or credit card for the total amount of $175. Cash will not be accepted on-site . *Individuals are not allowed to enter or attend (sit-in) the class without registration and payment 4. Class Schedule ****First Weekend**** 3/23: Friday night --> 6:00 PM Check-in/Registration Class 7:00 PM -- 9:30 PM 3/24: Saturday --> 9:00 AM Check-in/Registration Class 10:00 AM -- 8 PM 3/25: Sunday --> 10:00 AM -- 8 PM Lunch/Duhr on Saturday and Sunday: 1:00 PM -- 3:00 PM ****Second Weekend**** 3/30: Friday night --> No Class 3/31: Saturday -->10:00 AM -- 8 PM 4/1: Sunday --> Same as Saturday Lunch/Duhr on Saturday and Sunday: 1:00 PM -- 3:00 PM There will be multiple 15 minute breaks where a Q & A between the students and instructor will take place, as well as a two hour lunch break each day. 5. Arrival Time. On the first night of class, it is important for you to arrive at least 30 minutes before the seminar starts. In the highly unlikely event, Allah forbid, you get lost; you have 30 minutes to find your way! It will also give you time to sign-in and receive course material before the session starts. 6. Lunch and Snacks There are many halal restaurants and fast food stores around the masjid area. Students will receive a list of these stores before the first lunch break. Students are also welcome to make their own luch arrangements or bring food for luch. Lunch breaks are 2-hour long and should give plenty of time for students to relax, enjoy their meal and pray Dhuhr. *Light snacks and refreshments will be provided everyday during class. *No FOOD on Friday Evening: Attendees are encouraged not to come on empty stomachs on Friday evening. 7. Things to bring Although you will be provided the course binder with plenty of writing space inside, you may still want to bring extra notepaper. Please bring water bottles, writing materials, lunch money, Kleenex, (just in case, Tylenol, Antacids, etc). Course content binders will be provided for you at the first night. There will be Cd's and books for sale inshAllah, so bring cash for those if you are interested. 8. Room Setup To maintain a professional and comfortable environment for everyone, there will be separate entrance doors for brothers and sisters Insha'Allah. There will also be two check-in tables and two refreshment tables, one for brothers and one for sisters. At the beginning of the class, seminar rules will be clearly stated. Students are expected to respect and follow the best class etiquettes as outlined in the course binders and announced in class. Other important guidelines: -No cell phones will be allowed in class. Any device that can create noise MUST be shut off. -No children will be allowed in class. -Once the class has started, no one is allowed to get up and leave the class unless it is an emergency. Hence, we advise that if you need to use the restrooms, use it before the class begins or wait until the break period. -Students are expected to wear their name tags at all times. Your name tag is your ticket to re-enter the class room. -Out of respect for our instructor and the students, no one will be allowed into the class once it has started until the next break. 9. Housing: Accommodations are being made for brothers and sisters attending from other areas. Please contact the Ameer or the Ameerah if you need assistance finding a place to stay. See item #13 below for their contacts. 10. Asslamu Alaikum, Jazaikallah khair for sending it out to the list. I have a question: this sister got a half scholarship, can she pay the other half on-site with out the additional ($10) fee?

Maybe we can pass out the flyers regarding 'Aariz' at our class? They're still in need of a lot of money and there hasn't been much going on about it in Sacramento...

Another thing br. omar, the sister who got half scholarship wants to if she is already registered or she needs to register online still.... that was not mentioned to her in the e-mail.
Also Wedadies, just for record, we do have another sister who was half-sponsored by a Sister from sac state who couldnt take the class herself... Mash'Allah.
