The intro totally ROCKED masha'Allah.

And ofcourse, its time to share those GEMs...

How Haraam is it? Is it HARAAM Haram, or is it just... a little bit Haraam?

Re: Wedad Gems: Code of Scholars

SubhanAllah! It's amazing that even in joking and taking jokes the prophet SAW had patience and the best manners. He didn't even lose his temper or show any kind of dislike at the joke the Sahabah played on him (regarding the loosening of the saddle which led him to fall), EVEN THOUGH that fall could have hurt him or may have even been embarrassing. So many things for me to work on inshaAllah!!!

Let's go Qabeelat Wedad!!! Let's put up some great *gems* InshaAllah! Personal reflections are the best! You may have benefitted from something that others could have over looked. We shall enlighten each other InshaAllah.

Re: Wedad Gems: Code of Scholars

SubanAllah the Sahabah would push questions to another sahabah.-Why?- They didn't want to give the wrong answer! I think we can all benefit from this the next time we THINK we know something!

Re: Wedad Gems: Code of Scholars

Looking for 75% off fatwah...

Ibn Hazam said music is ok - are you willing to follow his madhab, go ahead and try. For men your salat is only valid in ja'mah. Still want to follow his madhab?

Going on a fatwah shopping spree is not permissible.

if you argue or debate with the ignorant, he will definitely defeat you

"The absence of accountability doesn't equal the absence of liability."

In Jamaa'a, you should make the salats shorter for people

Ibaadah issues: It's haram unless you have proof for otherwise
Dunya issues: It's Mubah until you prove otherwise

Ya Jamaah...

Who says the first opinion?

Who says the second opinion?

Who has a third opinion?

Who has no opinion?

Re: Wedad Gems: Code of Scholars

MashaAllah,
I can't wait for next weekend.
cancel that...
I can't wait to look over my notes from this weekend!

What truly beautiful knowledge we are learning.

Our Imams have done so much for us. May Allah bless our Shaykh and all those who came before, so that we can study this deen 1400 years later!

Re: Wedad Gems: Code of Scholars

Subhanallah, when the Sheikh was telling the story with his conversation with the Rabbi (and how some kosher foods are derived from pig), I couldn't help but think of how perfect our deen is and how we have protected it for centuries, whereas others have changed theirs.

We change to accomodate our perfect deen.
Others change their deen to accomodate themselves.

It reminded me of the story of the time of Musa (as) when they Jews were commanded not to fish on Sabbath. So what they did instead was let their nets out on Fridays, and reel them in on Sundays--"innocently" saying that they were abiding by the commands. Subhanallah

haha.. that's a good one!!

Shaykh got that from a Bosnian brother:
"so there were the Tabi'ees, then came the taba' tabi'ees, then taba' taba' tabi'ees....... taba' taba' taba' taba' tabi'ees............ then us: teletubbies?"

And the shaykh said that the word sounded a lot like the original (taba' tabi'ee chain) especially in the Bosnian accent!
