What Works "tips and techniques"

Ya Ansar, let's use this thread to share tips and techniques that works when registering people to classes. Share also techniques that didn't work and that you wouldn't recommend.

Let's learn from each other!!!

Using emotions as a tool:

This is a technique I learned from my younger sister. I’m trying to teach her to be more independent and do things without my help. So when she asked me to get her a glass of milk, I showed her how, and asked her to get one her self. Then she looked at me and she told me, “don’t you know that you get rewarded for helping others?” ...I got her the glass of milk.

Everybody knows the prophet sal Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, use the seerah of the prophet sal Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam as a means of inviting them to class.
Narrate to them a hadith, describe his characteristics, then invite them and say:


“Do you want to come and learn about Rasul Allaah?” I don’t know how people can say no.


“How much do you know about the life of the man you claim to be your prophet sal Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam?”

It works really well with most people.

Build a desire for taking the class

Before inviting someone to the class, I talk to them about the worth of learning the deen and how these seminars are beneficial. They have to feel the value of what you're talking to them about in order to be convinced. When they are convinced I SEARCH FOR THEIR NEEDS.

One on One talk

Having a conversation with the person that Im inviting help me to find out what is exactly preventing them to take the seminar.When I found what their needs are I just direct them to the available services, discounts, qabeelat scholarships, qard hassan etc and most of the times it works

Of the many techniques, here are a few:

-Show the urgency (just like when giving da'wah)
ie, We should not delay in learning the Seerah of the prophet (s.a.w) as many of us continue to delay year upon year in seeking knowledge
Also, this class was sold out in Toronto, so don't get left behind, register & pay NOW!

-Outline the amazing brother/sisterhood of Q-Ansar & the seminars
ie, During the classes, you will meet tons of new good muslims and you will have an absolutely amazing time

Get them out of the confort zone

Updating your group of the number of people who started paying and reminding them that seats are only confirmed once payment is received...

SubhannAllah it did really worked for me and alhamdulillah I started collecting the fees.

Salaam a'liakum,
I am making couple groups, so in the beginning I wrote an email to a grp of 10, and then I released that they are not taking me seriously! and some ppl thought they have a spot reserved and they can pay whenever.



So to step it up a bit and to inject urgency I wrote to all the ppl 1 email to show them that they don’t have a spot reserved. I am going to sign up ppl on first come basis.

so pick a date for everyone to pay and get it across to them that there is no such thing as a reserved spot on the bus.
