Lets revive Banu Haqq Radio - Share your thoughts

Assalamu alaikum
Insha Allah I am thinking to bring back Banu HAqq radio broadcasts every week.

I would like to get some feedback so we can work on it together insha Allah.

What is Banu Haqq radio ? (For those who dont know about it)

Previously, we used to broadcast any random AlMaghrib instructor's lectures on saturday night at 10pm thru this website. The listeners can listen it live by clicking on the link in the website.

Due to some technical difficulties and lack of volunteers we couldnt continue the broadcasting in Banu Haqq radio.

I am thinking now to start a series of Sh.Yasir Qadhi's lectures once or twice a week or we can have 2 broadcasts so it will accomodate students schedule.

After one session is done, we can post the gems, have a quiz, review the session, share notes or can even have small tests. Insha Allah that way when we finish a topic we will have clear understanding.

To start with, I am thinking on the following lectures:

1. Blessings of seeking knowledge
2. Etiquettes of Student of Knowledge
3. The Story of the Ifk (Ayesha radiyallahu anhu)
4. Dua the weapon of the believer

Please share your ideas/comments/suggestions here.

What were the technical difficulties that were encountered? Are those fixed?

What technical knowledge would the volunteer(s) need to know in order to coordinate the broadcasts?

The server which we were using didnt respond for some reason. Honestly saying, I dont know the technical details of the issue and also dont know anything outside the Steps 1-10 that was given to me.

We have a new server now, and access from Br.Abu Hurayra. But I havent configured that yet.

Once we setup, insha Allah , we can add this to our website.

Thoughts: I think we should start it after the class though because, personally, I want to focus on the ROE class before getting into anything else. We should start off at once per week and then add the second timing if needed. Sunday night would be better I think cuz most people are busy on Saturday nights.

My First Choice: I would choose Du`a' the Weapon of the Believer to start off with just cuz I've been wanting to listen to it forever but any of the 4 look awesome.

I feel like this would help build up hype if/when we get Shaykh Yasir Qadhi in SoCal.. in sha' Allah.

I love this enthusiasm. Alhamdulilah!

No way I will be able to do this week or even next weekend. Because I need to completely reconfigure my laptop and also the server. Eventhough I have all the details that I needed, I dont know if I will be to test it successfully because Br.Abu Hurayrah is out of country for next few weeks (In case if Iam stuck).

But any techie help will be highly appreciated.

We also had plans to host live broadcast once in a month depending on instructor's availability. To begin with insha Allah we can host Sh.Muhammad Faqih's live broadcast once in a month.

Everybody, pls come with your timing. May be I will start a poll to decide on the timings insha Allah.

I had planned to have part of our saturday seminar to be broadcasted to Australia and the UK but SUBHAN ALLAH. I was unable to get the phone service connected to our room. Also I guess our "saturday nights of knowledge" would have to get a new name. Secondly the reason why we don't have multiple sessions is that we can build discipline and hype. Having multiple sessions only gives people a reason to delay tunning in, which in turn means shaytan will delay them the second time also. In my opinion let's find ONE timing which most of our socal peeps can tune-in to. Thirdly we have to keep an eye on copyrights, which I know sister Quest is careful with. I find on the web people sharing copy righted material. And I feel bad for them because of time it must have taken them to make a website, only to have the akhira come with ALLAH (SWT) possiblly not accepting any of the work just because they didn't think twice about how much another individual spent in developing that audio/video etc. sorry if I'm venting but I used to produce some of the audio out there.

What exatly was Hanu Haqq radio? was it like palTalk style online radio or an acual radio station, someone please let me know because i really want to help.
