Reminders Benefit the Believers
Reminders Benefit the Believers وَذَكِّرْ فَإِنَّ الذِّكْرَى تَنفَعُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatu We are all in need of reminders, that which replenishes the heart, motivates us to strive harder in the way of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, increasing in our remembrance and inshaaAllah causing for an increase in birr and taqwa. The fortification of the heart, as Imaam Ibn Al Qayyim states, occurs by way of fear and remembrance. So inshaaAllah this thread is dedicated to just that, admonitions - ayaat, hadeeth, narrations of the Salaf, statements of the 'ulamaa, and gem-filled reflections. Think of it as your daily dose of gems. MashaaAllah, I've seen our Haylers' ability to keep threads alive; inshaaAllah ta'ala I hope this one follows suit, for Allah 'azza wa jall says what means, And remind (by preaching the Qur'ân, O Muhammad SAW) for verily, the reminding profits the believers. (Adh-Dhariyat 51:55) Wa Salamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatu

With desire for the Hereafter the pleasure of Allaah – the Mighty and Majestic – is obtained." Iqtidaa`ul 'Ilmil 'Amal (no. 31) Last edited by bintamina; 01-01-2008 at 11:36 AM. |

Re: Reminders Benefit the Believers
And the life of this world is nothing but play and amusement. But far better is the house in the Hereafter for those who are AlMuttaqűn (the pious). Will you not then understand? (Al-An'am 6:32)

Re: Reminders Benefit the Believers
"So beware of this land (the dunya) that is falling down and is misleading and deceiving, being decorated by its deceit and having eluded (others) by its delusion, and having killed its people with its hopes. It looks forward with anticipation towards the one who proposes to it for marriage. Hence it becomes like the unveiled bride - all the eyes are looking towards it, and the souls are in love with it, and the hearts are captivated by it." - Hasan Al Basree -

Re: Reminders Benefit the Believers
The Prophet Muhammad (3layhi salaat was salaam) said: "The worst people in the Sight of Allah on the Day of Resurrection will be the double faced people who appear to some people with one face and to other people with another face."
Sahih Al Bukhari Volume 008, Book 073, Hadith Number 084 Narrated by Abu Hurayrah (radhi Allah 3nhu). so insha'Allah let us remember this when dealing with people on a day-to-day basis

Re: Reminders Benefit the Believers
Prophet Muhammad (3layhi salaat was salaam) said: "This world (i.e. its pleasures and duration) in comparison with the Life in the Hereafter is (similar to the amount of water) one gets when he puts his finger in the sea. Let him then see what it returns with.”
Al-Mustaurad bin Shaddad (r.a) reported the above Hadith. Sahih Muslim Hadith 463. Book 1 Chapter 55 Excellence of Ascetic life from Riyad-us-Saliheen page no. 423

Re: Reminders Benefit the Believers
Repel the thought, for if you don't, it becomes an idea. So repel the idea, for if you don't it will become a desire. So fight against that (desire), for if you don't, it will become a determination and a passion. And if you don't repel that, it will become an action. And if you don't replace it with its opposite, it will become a constant habit. So at that point, it will be difficult for you to change it.
[Shaykh Hussain al-Awaayishah; Faid-ur-Rahmaan fee Al-Fawaaâid-il-Hisaan]

Prophet (3layhi salaat was salaam) said:
"When honesty is lost, then wait for the Hour." It was asked, "How will honesty be lost, O Allah's Apostle?" He (peace be upon him) said, "When authority is given to those who do not deserve it, then wait for the Hour.” Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 8.503 Narrated by Abu Hurayrah

Re: Reminders Benefit the Believers
Qala Rasulullah [sallalahu alayhi wasallam] : “How can I lead a life of ease when the angel of the horn has put it to its lips and raised his forehead anticipating to hear the call, so when he is ordered to blow, he will blow.” So the Muslims said: What should we say (supplicate) O Messenger of Allah [sallalahu alayhi wasallam]? He replied: “Say: Sufficient is Allah for us and He is the best of Guardians, we put our trust in Allah, our Lord” Reported by Al-Haakim.
